Mimoh Chakraborty is the elder son of veteran actor, Mithun Chakraborty and his wife, Yogita Bali. He also has two siblings, Dishani Chakraborty and Namashi. He became a popular face with the release of Vikram Bhatt's film, Haunted 3D. He further went on to appear in films like Loot, Rocky, Enemmy, Main Mulayam Singh Yadav and others, but all of them failed at the box office.
In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Mimoh opened up about his bond with other Bollywood stars and revealed that he came into films because of Hrithik Roshan. However, he further added that despite staying in Mumbai for almost 15 years, he has never met the latter, who is also his idol. Talking about the same, Mimoh said:
“I am such a huge fan of Hrithik Roshan. I’m in the industry because of him, and I’ve never met him, but I’ve met Rakesh sir. I met him and told him that I’m such a huge fan of your son and it’s my dream to meet him. I never pursued it, because I did not want to sound desperate.”
Mimoh further went on to talk about his meeting with other Bollywood actors and recalled his encounter with Abhishek Bachchan many years ago. Revealing that Amitabh Bachchan was in the hospital for treatment at that time, Mimoh shared that Abhishek was accompanying his father. He also mentioned the one advice that he got from Abhishek to survive in the industry and said:
“I met Amit uncle and Abhishek was there. Abhishek gave me one advice, and at that time, Abhishek was very hot in the industry. He told me that ‘Mimoh, no matter how much they put you down, you get back up again and show them what you are’. I still remember this.”
Mimoh shared that though he is a star kid himself, he is not friends with other star kids of his generation including Ranbir Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan. He also mentioned that his father, Mithun was friends with late Rishi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan, but he doesn't enjoy such friendships in the industry. Mimoh also mentioned that his debut film, Jimmy released at a time when Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Arjun Kapoor also paved their way in the industry, and later succeeded. He added:
“I am wishing well for them, but I get jealous also, I mean, I am a human being and I wish I was there. But I understood after a lot of years that nothing works when destiny plays its hand.”
Mimoh Chakraborty made his Bollywood debut with the film, Jimmy, which tanked at the box office. In the same interview, the actor recalled how people criticised his performance in the film. He added that his mother showed him a particular review which claimed that he wasn't fit enough to be a junior artist. In his words:
"Mom, me and dad, all of us cried. All of us had a breakdown. Now I am just talking about it but back then, it was very hurtful. I remember after Jimmy's release, I was devastated when a review read that Mimoh Chakraborty isn't even fit enough to be a junior artist.”
Mimoh Chakraborty was last seen in the film, Jogira Sara Ra Ra, alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Neha Sharma.
