Mini Mathur Wore Her 'Nani's' Jewellery On Her Wedding, Shares 'Hidden Gems' From Her Big Day

Mini Mathur married the love of her life, filmmaker, Kabir Khan, 27 years ago. In a time when every bride looks for their Pinterest-perfect wedding, Mini recalled her big day when none of the brands and aesthetics mattered. However, their love remained evident in the shared pictures.

Mini Mathur revealed she wore her nani's jewellery for her big day

Mini Mathur shared a series of pictures from her wedding on her Instagram handle on February 28, 2025. As the couple celebrated their 27 years of marital bliss, the actress recalled the simplicity of her wedding day. The actress also revealed that she was wearing her nani's jewels on her wedding day. Mini shared a series of pictures and reminisced about the simple time when high-end bridal brands like Sabyasachi did not exist.

In the pictures, she donned gold jewellery, including a choker neckpiece, matching earrings, a maang teeka, and a nath. She also revealed that her friend had done her makeup for the big day and made her a trendy hairstyle, which confused everyone about where the groom should apply sindoor. She also shared her struggle with removing the pins from her hair. Recalling the day of her wedding, she penned:

"I wore my naanis jewellery, my friend @vidyatikari did my make up and made a trendy cornrow hairstyle which created much confusion in the mandap as to which one to fill with sindoor. It took me an hour to take the pins off and i looked electrocuted on my wedding night."

Mini Mathur revealed she styled her own wedding outfits

Mini Mathur also shared how she styled her wedding outfits herself. The actress wore a dual-tone lehenga for her big day. The rose-gold-hued lehenga featured delicate embroidery. She paired the gorgeous lehenga with a contrasting blue choli with full sleeves and intricate threadwork in the front. The bride looked gorgeous as she decorated her hair with gajra, and a beautiful smile graced her lips. 

Mini Mathur recalls being 'deliriously happy' on her wedding day

In the same post, Mini revealed how she got married when Sabyasachi lehengas, hashtags, exquisite sunset photos, and bridal entry music didn't exist. However, she still recalled being extremely happy as she was surrounded by everyone she loved and who loved her. The actress mentioned how they signed a register but also let go of their religious differences and got married, adhering to the rituals of both cultures. She stated:

"When Sabyasachi lehengas weren’t the norm, with no wedding hashtags or exquisite sunset photos and certainly no bridal entry music. But I do remember being deliriously happy, singing & dancing like a monkey surrounded by Kabir's extensive Khan-daan from Hyderabad, the entire Mathur clan & all our friends. That was a simpler time, with live shehnai and songs written & sung by my family…unencumbered by the trappings of religious differences or any kind of propriety. We signed a register.. but went ahead and happily did all the cultural ceremonies from both sides anyway!"

Mini Mathur revealed what she had learned from her 27 years of marriage with Kabir Khan

In the same post, Mini further shared how she felt like it had been five years ago when she married her husband, Kabir. She revealed that in all these years, if she had learnt anything, it would have been to focus on their similarities and not their differences. The actress also shared a recent photograph of the two and added that for a marriage to work, the couple needs to have a sense of humour and a short memory of things that don’t feel so good.
