Families gathering together, singing Lohri songs, burning logs and popping groundnut and popcorns is how Indians define and celebrate one of the most fun festival, Lohri. Apart from the relevance that this festival has for crops, Lohri is mainly about family unity where everyone is huddled together and making the most of the bonfire and its warmth. One of Bollywood’s most famous filmy family did the same thing but with one of their members missing from the lot. Yes, speaking of Shahid Kapoor and his family in here, there are a zillion things which you can learn from this family. Hardly have we seen Shahid, Mira and their kids celebrate festivals without their whole family huddled together. Remember how, on Independence Day 2018, Mrs Kapoor posted pictures of Misha and her baba, Pankaj Kapoor flying kites together? And once again, this daadu-poti jodi did something similar on the eve of Lohri.
A couple of Instagram stories shared by Shahid’s wife, Mira gave us a sneak peek into their Lohri celebrations. The star wife posted pictures of their Lohri bonfire and Misha decked in all-yellow, chilling with her baba, Pankaj Kapoor. What was further notable was Mira chilling with her sister-in-law (Pankaj Kapoor and Supriya Pathak’s daughter), Sanah Kapur. Take a look at all the pictures here:

If you have seen the above pictures carefully, you must have noticed that the ‘man of the house’, Shahid Kapoor was nowhere to be seen. The actor was in Delhi and returned only late in the night. Mira, who had gone to receive Shahid at the airport, gave the biggest hug to her man upon seeing him! Shutterbugs immediately captured the lovely moment and you can check the same below:
Isn’t it amazing? Shahid and Mira welcomed a baby boy, Zain Kapoor on September 05, 2018. Sharing his happiness with Republic TV, Pankaj Kapoor shared,“I am very delighted that a new bundle of joy has come to our house. A baby being born in any house is a matter of sheer joy and excitement. Similarly, it is a moment of joy for our family and as the grandfather of the newborn, I am delighted and very proud of my family. I wish Shahid and Mira all the very best and many congratulations.” (Also Read: Farhan Akhtar Posts His First Official Love Post For Shibani Dandekar, Calls Her 'Beautiful Star')
If you want to know more about Shahid and Sanah’s relationship, here is an interesting account as described by Sanah in an interview, “Bhaiya is very protective which he has been for a long time. But having turned a father, his protectiveness has multiplied in many ways. One day, when I was busy playing with Misha (Shahid’s daughter), he entered the room and started asking ‘Yeh kya kapdey pehney hai tumne? Tumhe dekh kar Misha bhi aise kapde pehnagi, ya phir chaige pehnna’ (What are you wearing? Looking at you even Misha will want to wear such clothes). I guess the dress I was wearing did not go well with him.” She had further added, “It sounded so cute. He has become such an over-protective father. Hearing this from him, we all laughed. All in all, I find him an adorable father.” (Don't Miss: Taimur Ali Khan Returns From Europe Vacation, Joins Sister Inaaya Naumi Kemmu For Play Date)
We all know that Shahid is an extremely protective and caring father. In an episode of Vogue BFFs, Shahid had revealed that he won’t raise Misha the way his father, Pankaj Kapoor raised him! The Haider star had stated, “He is an extremely nice person and he has always been a friend to me, those are the things that I would want. But he's a bit hyper and he's a bit over-protective. So, those are the two things that I hope I don't do to my child.” He had also added, "Actually more than a piece of advice. What my dad told me was that 'Now, you will know all the complaints that I have always had against you'."
In an interview with Mid-Day, Shahid shared his feelings on paparazzi clicking Misha all the time and stated, “My daughter didn’t choose this glamorous life. What’s her fault? I hate to think of all the glare that’s on her. That is probably the only time I feel I should have had another job. I don’t want her to deal with it. It’s not good for children to go through this. They have a right to a normal childhood."
He further added, “She has to deal with it because I am her dad. It’s tough for me, as a parent, to make peace with that. I hope she will learn how to tackle it when she grows up. Misha is the only one who soothes me in a world filled with harsh critics. I am responsible for a woman who has left her life in Delhi to be with me. I am responsible for my daughter and must be an example for her. I have to be a good human being first, a good actor later. I’ve realized that this drastic shift is helping me grow as both.” (Must Read: Kapil Sharma's Wife Ginni Chatrath Shares A Cute Birthday Wish For Her 'Saasu-Maa')
Speaking about his own childhood, Shahid Kapoor had once shared, “No one knew I was Pankaj Kapur’s son till I joined the industry. It was only after an IMDB page about me was made that people discovered who my father is. My mother was a struggling actor, who separated from my dad when I was growing up. So, I had a regular middle-class childhood, devoid of attention.”
Having said that, guys, how did you like Mira’s Lohri celebrations? How was yours? Keep us posted!
