Mohammed Shami Played World Cup Finals Despite His Mother Being Hospitalised Hours Before The Match

Indian bowler, Mohammed Shami showed his best form through the ICC World Cup 2023. Despite missing the first four games of the same, the bowler made a record-breaking performance in the tournament. And once again, as India fought against Australia in the final ICC World Cup 2023 match at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium, Shami once again proved his dedication to the sport. As per reports, Shami's mother, Anjum Ara was hospitalised.

Mohammed Shami's mother was hospitalised hours before the ICC World Cup 2023 final match

According to a report in IBC 24, Mohammed Shami's mother, Anjum Ara was hospitalised on November 19, 2023, hours before the final match of ICC World Cup 2023 began. The report claimed that Anjum felt feverish from the morning. Thus, she was taken to a hospital and admitted over there. The following reports mentioned that she was out of danger and is doing well now. However, it is still unknown whether the cricketer was aware of his mother's hospitalisation and ill health as he is in Ahmedabad with the Indian cricket team.

Despite her ill health, Anjum didn't stop wishing the best to her son, Mohammed Shami ahead of the match. As per a report in the Press Trust of India, Anjum wished best to Shami and his team, just a few hours before the game began. In Anjum Ara's brief message.

"I wish they can win the World Cup and bring cheer to the country."

When Mohammed Shami's ex-wife, Hasin Jahan made a shocking statement on the cricketer's achievements

For the unversed, Mohammed Shami and his ex-wife, Hasin Jahan had a bitter divorce, after the latter accused him of marital rape, match-fixing and domestic violence. Thus, after the cricketer made historic moments in the World Cup 2023 matches, during an interview with News Nation, Hasin expressed her views about the cricketer's achievements. Hasin refused to give applause to him and instead mentioned that she has no knowledge about cricket. Moreover, she made a shocking statement and said that if Shami performs well for the country, he will earn well. This will eventually help him to provide for her and their daughter, Aaira. Talking about the same, Hasin said:

"Main cricket dekhti nahi hu, isliye cricketers ki bhi fan nahi hu. Or kitne wicket liye, kya liye, ye sab mere samajh ke bahar hai. Mai kuchh janti bhi nahi hu. Kuch bhi hai, accha perform kr rha hai, accha khelega, team main bana rahega, achha kamayega toh humara bhavishya secure rahega."
