Mona Singh needs no introduction to showbiz fans. The famous actress from TV made a successful shift into films and has been riding high on success. Mona is known for taking up versatile roles and experimenting with new characters. The actress, who mostly kept her personal life private, surprised the fans by tying the knot with filmmaker, Shyam Rajagopalan at a traditional Sikh ceremony. She recently shared more details about it in an interview.
Mona Sign rose to fame with her debut TV serial, Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin in 2003. During her long career in showbiz, she was often linked to dating an actor. But the actress surprised her fans when she chose to marry filmmaker, Shyam Rajagopalan. She recently sat down for an interview with Siddharth Kannan and said she would not have handled marrying an actor. Mona was quoted as saying:

"Maybe I couldn't have handled another actor. Thode obsessive type ho jate hai. Mai nahi hu, but log hote hai. I'm very happy that we are in the same industry. He is into advertising and not an actor."

Mona added that she is happy that her husband, Shyam, is a filmmaker. The 3 idiots actress added that her husband is a producer, director, and even manages theaters. As a result, he helps her to better understand when she is reading a script. Moreover, he helps her even when she is stuck in some confusion or issues of life.
Mona Singh, married Shyam Rajagopalan, in a private crematory in December 2019 at Juhu military club in Mumbai. She is a Punjabi and got married in a traditional Sikh wedding. In the same interview, Mona revealed that she can understand Tamil a bit as her husband patiently taught her the basics of the language. Mona said her husband is a 'great guy', and her friends were excited about her marrying him. In her words:
"All my friends were happy that, oh you married a south Indian khana bada acha milega tere ghar pe, and I was like just shut up."
