Mouni Roy is all set for the release of her film, The Bhootni. Before that, Mouni had an extremely unpleasant experience with British Airways at Heathrow Airport. However, she had deleted the post from her social media handle, X, but Mouni revealed how British Airways staff misbehaved with her and her team after an 11-hour flight. She revealed they didn't even offer her and her team water.
In a now-deleted post on X, Mouni shared that after an 11-hour fight when she landed at Heathrow Airpot, she politely asked a man (whom she identified as a Muslim man) if four of the team members could accommodate the same flight. She even told him that she would pay extra if he would allow it. However, Mouni was left shocked when the man 'flipped' as he didn't like her tone and asked if she was willing to fly. Sharing the post, Mouni wrote:
"To mine and my entire team if women’s amazement none of the women standing there supported us but I do believe they are the reason we boarded the flight. If it was upto that horrible man he would be laugh and be happy if we missed the flight. Look into this, please. I'm not worried at all. Please do look into this for women and people for other countries who aren’t on social media. Thank you."
Mouni revealed that she had to beg and cry to board her flight. Tagging PM Narendra Modi, in her post, demanded strong action against the male team member who did the rude act. Mouni also revealed that none of her team members were even offered water during the journey after the heated argument. She concluded her post by writing, "Is this racism or let us know what. Not cool!"
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Mouni Roy revealed that she faced a lot of harsh criticism from people. She had overheard people talking about her looks behind her back. Mouni revealed that she had a humble upbringing as she was born in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, and always knew she wasn't a gorgeous person. She said:
"I'll be very honest when I started and people used to talk, I’ve always heard, always known I’m not the best looking person in a room. And I’ve always been okay with it. But when I came to Bombay, it was somehow a problem to look different, to not look like the quintessential heroine."

Mouni further added that as a 19-year-old girl, it would affect her, and she would cry a lot. She revealed that earlier, she didn't know about makeup or hair or how to present herself in front of people. She said:
"I’ve understood all that (being a quintessential heroine) now, but as a young girl of 19, it was very difficult. I used to cry a lot. I’ve overheard people in a room talking about me. My first 2-3 years in terms of how I looked or felt. I never… When I came here, suddenly it was I didn’t know anything about hair or makeup or how to present myself. But thankfully I was very observant and God gave me the wisdom to finally overcome it."
