Mrs has taken the entire social media by storm; while the critics are at a loss of words to appreciate the film, most single females have labelled it as a 'horror story about marriage'. The film is about the harsh reality of most Indian marriages, as it showcases emotional violence, patriarchal conditioning, and misogyny in Indian marriages. Sanya Malhotra has played the character of trained dance choreographer, 'Richa Sharma', while Nishant Dahiya's character, 'Diwakar Kumar' is a gynaecologist in the film.
The story about Richa Sharma and Diwakar Kumar's arranged marriage and the struggles she went through in a patriarchal household is a crystal clear reflection of most of the marriages that we see around us. Every post on social media about the film is filled with so many heartbreaking comments like "Reality. Couldn't stop my tears", "Hits so hard", "Proves beti bolne se bahu beti ni ban jati", and "Kaafi triggering movie hain".
For the uninitiated, Mrs is directed by Arati Kadav, and it is the official remake of Jeo Baby's iconic film, The Great Indian Kitchen. Apart from Sanya Malhotra and Nishant Dahiya, the film feature a series of renowned actors like Kanwaljit Singh, Varun Badola, Mrinal Kulkarni, Viraj Mundkar, and many more. The film is co-produced by Jio Studios, which Mukesh Ambani owns. Since the film's release on Zee5, Nishant Dahiya and Kanwaljit Singh have been receiving a lot of hate on social media for playing their roles of patriarchal men effortlessly well.
Kanwaljit Singh and Nishant Dahiya looked so natural that people have now started hating them, which speaks volumes about their respective acting prowess. For the uninitiated, Mrs has recorded the biggest opening on Zee5 and is also 2025's most Googled film so far. Amidst all the buzz around Mrs, it's important to talk about two more people who deserve to be in the limelight now that Arati Kadav's film has emerged as the year's first big blockbuster.
The two people who deserve widespread appreciation are Mrs' writers, Harman Baweja and Anu Singh Choudhary. The film is written by Bollywood actor, Harman Baweja, who made his acting debut with the film, Love Story 2050 but couldn't make it big in Bollywood as an actor. On the other side, Anu Singh Choudhary is a screenwriter who has previously worked on films like Grahan, Scoop, Aarya, and The Good Girl Show. While Anu has been into writing since the beginning of her career, Harman Baweja ventured into screenwriting back in 2019 when he co-wrote the web series, Super V.

Besides Super V, Harman Baweja worked as a screenwriter in two renowned films, Chaar Sahibzaade: Rise of Banda Singh Bahadur and Khwaabon Ka Jhamela. Not only this, Harman Baweja also owns a production house, Baweja Studios, that has also co-produced Sanya Malhotra's Mrs, along with Jio Studios. Baweja Studios was founded by Harman's father, Harry Baweja, who is also a film producer. The esteemed film studio has produced and distributed many renowned films like Dilwale, Diljale, Beetabi, Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai?, Qayamat: City Under Threat, Karam, and many more.
Harman Baweja couldn't make his mark in Bollywood, but when he made his debut with the film, Love Story 2050 in 2009 opposite Priyanka Chopra, people went crazy over his looks. With his strong resemblance to Bollywood superstar, Hrithik Roshan and exceptional dancing skills, he was Bollywood's leading heartthrob at that time. Although they never accepted that they were in a relationship, but unidentified sources close to the couple speculated that they were dating. However, after Love Story 2050 was bombed at the box office, reports were rife that Harman and Priyanka had parted ways.
Fast forward to 2025, Priyanka Chopra is leading a happy marriage with her husband, Nick Jonas and their daughter, Malti Marie. On the contrary, Harman Baweja is also happily married to the love of his life, Sasha Ramchandani, and the cutesy couple is blessed with two kids, a son and a daughter.
