After Bipasha Basu, Did Mrunal Thakur Diss Anushka? Netizens Wonder As She Said, 'She's Not Working'

Mrunal Thakur is a renowned actress who, with her exceptional acting skills, has kept the audience hooked to the screens. Recently, Mrunal became a topic of discussion, first because an old video of her surfaced online, in which she was seen body-shaming Bipasha Basu, and later, her dating buzz with Dhanush began. The actress clarified both controversies, first by apologising to Bipasha and then by dismissing her dating buzz.

Mrunal Thakur dissed Anushka Sharma after her old comments on Bipasha Basu caused a stir?

Well, a portion of netizens are still upset about Mrunal Thakur's statement on Bipasha, and amid this, an old video of her has made the rounds on social media, leading people to think that she might have also taken a jab at a famous actress. Thus, no sooner did the video surface than Mrunal started getting slammed again. For those who don't know, Mrunal was reportedly making her Hindi debut with the Bollywood film Sultan, alongside Salman Khan.

Anushka Sharma later replaced Mrunal's role. In the recently surfaced video, Mrunal talked about rejecting films. The actress said that she had rejected so many films because she was simply not ready for the parts, and they might even cause controversies. Without naming the film or the actress, Mrunal mentioned that a movie she had rejected actually became a superhit, which helped the female lead reach her goal. Mrunal could be quoted as saying:

"So many. I said no, honestly, because I was not ready. Controversies hojayegi. It became a super hit and did help the female actress to reach there. But, then I realised if I would have done that film at that point of time I would have lost myself."

In the same interview, Mrunal Thakur revealed that the actress of that film isn't working now, but she is, which itself is an example of victory. She went on to add that she doesn't want instant fame, recognition, or gratification, as she feels that anything that comes instantly goes away just as quickly. Mrunal said:

"Then she is not working at the moment, but I am, is itself a victory because I don't want instant gratification, instant recognition, instant fame because anything that comes instantly goes away instantly."

Netizens slam Mrunal Thakur for her comments

As soon as the video went viral, netizens slammed Mrunal for her comment, which they felt was a shade on the other actress she was talking about. One user commented, "That last part was unnecessary shade at the actress; she really is a mean girl."

Another user wrote, "I may sound petty, but I just cannot stand the face she makes while speaking. It kind of exudes 'know-it-all' and 'I'm-better-than-you'. I guess I just cannot forget 'Go marry Bipasha' thingy.....babe, at least pretend to be humble." A third user penned, "I really think it is Sultan- but an actress deliberately taking a break from Bollywood to spend time with family is not her ‘victory’. Bad attitude, especially for someone senior to you."

Mrunal Thakur extended an apology to Bipasha Basu

It was a few days ago when a video of Mrunal Thakur made the rounds on social media, in which she was conversing with her co-star. As her co-star asked her to do push-ups, she denied and asked if he, her co-star, would want to marry a masculine girl. As Arijit revealed that he wished to marry a toned girl, Mrunal asked her to marry Bipasha by stating that she is far better than the actress. Such a statement caused a stir on social media. Following this, Mrunal released a statement in which she said that she was only 19 years old and, out of jest, had said some words without understanding the weight of them. She further apologised and took accountability for the weight her words held.
