Mrunal Thakur On Her Rumoured Valentine's Day Wedding With Dhanush, 'Going To Be April 1...'

Mrunal Thakur has been in the news due to her personal life. While the actress had made it clear that she is not dating South superstar Dhanush, reports often state something else. Not only this, rumours were rife that Mrunal Thakur is all set to get married to Dhanush on Valentine's Day 2026. Now, Mrunal reacted to the marriage buzz.

Recently, in an interview with Galatta India, Mrunal Thakur opened up about her stance on her marriage rumours with Dhanush. When the host asked her if she was getting married anything soon, she straight away said no. She revealed that she had no idea who started the rumour around her marriage, and even quoted her while she had given no statement in the matter. She said:

"Me? No. I think 14th April is going to be the 1st April…14th Feb is going to be the 1st April. April Fools' Day. Because I don’t know who started…First of all. I’ve been quoted, but I never said anything. And they just said, Mrunal said so. I was like, wow, how beautiful. It’s scary."

It is worth mentioning that Mrunal never talked about her rumoured relationship with Dhanush, but many believe that the two are in a relationship. It all started after Mrunal had attended the after-party of Dhanush's film, Tere Ishq Mein, which gained widespread interest. Later, in August 2025, she had invited the Tamil star to the premiere of her film. The buzz ignited after she hugged him, and in early 2026, there were speculations that they would get married soon. However, the two neither accepted nor denied their relationship buzz publicly.

According to a Reddit post, Mrunal and Dhanush have a joint Spotify playlist, which suggests something is brewing between them. Also, as per a report by News18 Showsha, the duo fell in love amidst a busy schedule. Mrunal, who was shooting down in South, where she found solace in Dhanush. The report further stated that the source confirmed that the two are dating. 

Talking about their first meeting, the source revealed that Mrunal was busy shuttling for work between Mumbai and Hyderabad. It was during an event in the south where she met Dhanush for the first time. Soon, they felt a connection and their friendship blossomed into love. The source shared:

"The success of Sita Ramam opened doors for Mrunal in the South film industry. She has simultaneously been working in Mumbai too. Mrunal, who is currently shooting for Dacoit: A Love Story with Adivi Sesh, keeps shuttling between Mumbai and Hyderabad, and it’s during an event down south where she met Dhanush."
