Mrunal Thakur is one of the finest actresses of her time. From working on blockbuster hit movies to acing her characters on-screen, Mrunal is simply a gem in the acting industry. Moreover, she is loved for her humble and straightforward nature, wherein she never leaves a chance to bare her opinions openly in the public forum. However, just like many other outsiders, she too, had a fair share of struggle in the industry. But regardless of that, she defended star kids in one of her old interviews and revealed where the actual fault lies.
Now, a Reddit user shared an old video of Murnal Thakur from one of her interviews. In the video, the actress was heard opening up about the star kids facing huge criticism online every now and then. Mrunal mentioned that star kids like Janhvi Kapoor and Ananya Panday, among others, have no such fault in general. Instead, she pointed towards the media hype and mentioned how the audience creates such a situation to get inside the star kids' lives. In Mrunal's words:

"Let's begin with media, example, we don't have Ananya and Janhvi unfortunately, but trust me, bahut sarein, ye point bhi miss hogaya nepotism ka. Nepotism got missed, but I have to say something ki nepotism is not because... unka koi fault nahi hai yaar, they are star kids you know. It's we as common people, who are so intrigued to know ki unke life mein kya chal raha hai."

Further, Mrunal gave an example from her own experiences. She mentioned how once the media had run behind a star kid when the Sita Ramam actress was just mid-way through her interview. Mrunal mentioned that although both she and Janhvi were awarded that night, the latter got more media coverage. Elaborating her point, Mrunal mentioned:
"I'll give you one simple example, Awards night chal rahi thi, and the interview session was happening. I'm in the middle of an interview and the media ran behind the star kid. Now, tell me- I have been awarded as the best actor or critic as same as Janhvi being awarded the same night, I was not even handed the speech. I'm not saying that I'm jealous or something, I'm saying that it's not their fault, stop pointing nepotism. What I feel it also depends on the audience and the media especially."
