The year 2018, started on a shocking note for the world of glam and glitz as without a goodbye, Bollywood legend, Sridevi left us all. And then came the news of actors being diagnosed with cancer, from Irfaan Khan to Sonali Bendre. But the bad news didn't end there as Rishi Kapoor sent his fans into frenzy when he announced that he is taking a break from the Tinseltown for some medical reason. While everyone started speculating, the actor was diagnosed with cancer, his family kept denying it. However, at the start of the year, Neetu Kapoor's cryptic post confirmed it. On the first day of the year, Neetu stated that she doesn't have any resolutions to make, only wishes. And in the same post, she talked about her wish of cancer becoming a zodiac. This one sentence dropped the major hint.
We loved how the entire B-town came together to support Rishi and his family in their gloomy days and tried to spread some sunshine. From Shah Rukh Khan to Aamir Khan, everyone made sure to visit the actor and pray for his speedy recovery. Now, Ambanis visited Rishi and Neetu in New York. On May 19, 2019, Neetu took to her Instagram handle to share a couple of pictures with them. In one of the pictures, we can see the four squeezed together as they posed wearing colour coordinated clothes. Take a look at the pictures below:

Rishi's courage and patience have helped him won the fight against cancer and he is now cancer free. Recently, in an interview with the Deccan Chronicle, he had talked about his fight, and had shared, "My eighth month of treatment started on May 1 in the US. But God has been kind! I am in remission, meaning now I am cancer-free." However, there are more medical procedures to follow before he will be able to return to India, the actor had stated, "I will have to do a bone-marrow transplant which in all probability should take another two months minimum."
He had further added, "Neetu has stood by me like a rock. Otherwise I am too difficult a person to handle as far as food and drink are concerned. My kids Ranbir and Ridhima have really shouldered my problems. A person like me who has never had patience, this is God’s way to teach me patience. Getting well is a slow procedure. But it makes you grateful for the gift of life."
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Rishi had shared, “My treatment is on, hopefully I will recover soon and God willing I will return. The procedure is long and tedious and one needs immense patience which unfortunately is not one of my virtues.”
Rishi had also talked about what's keeping his mind busy, “Thankfully, I am not thinking about films anymore, just want to be blank and refresh myself with a more relaxed mind.
