Actor, Mukesh Khanna recently made headlines with the buzz surrounding the return of the classic show that catapulted him to fame, Shaktimaan. Many may not know this, but the senior actor didn't just star in the show — he also helped create it alongside Dinker Jani. Now that Mukesh is set on bringing back the iconic show, he is on the hunt for the perfect person to fill his shoes. Earlier, there was talk about Ranveer Singh taking on the role, but Mukesh wasn't too convinced, and the Gunday star's nude photoshoot was a big factor causing his hesitation. Recently, Mukesh opened up about Ranveer telling him he was tricked into doing the shoot but backtracking on what he said in public.
Mukesh Khanna has high hopes of bringing back his iconic series, Shaktiman as a big-screen adaptation. So, the actor is wrapped up in the search for the actor who can best fit the role. Earlier, Mukesh was in talks with Ranveer Singh, who allegedly tried his best to convince the former that he would be the ideal choice for the reboot. However, Mukesh remained hesitant even after two meetings with the actor, and Ranveer's nude photoshoot was a big reason behind the same.
Well, recently, Mukesh appeared for a candid chat with Siddharth Kannan, revealing that Ranveer had told him he had been tricked into doing the shoot while convincing Mukesh to cast him as 'Shaktimaan.' However, the senior actor was surprised when Ranveer later told the media he wasn't ashamed of the shoot. In Mukesh's words:
"He tried to tell me that he didn't know what was happening because he was shuttling between shoots, and that he was duped and betrayed. I felt sympathy for him, but some time later, he went and told the press that he wasn't ashamed of the shoot. Now that you've brought this topic up, let's address it properly. He said that he was comfortable with it, and I reacted in a video, saying that he might be comfortable, but we aren't."
Mukesh further revealed that he was confused as to why Ranveer hadn't filed a legal case if he had indeed been tricked into the shoot. However, the Band Baaja Baaraat star told him that he was contractually bound not to have any say over the photos. Mukesh told Siddharth:
"I would've (taken legal action). He told me that he was contractually bound to not have any say about the photos. I wasn't convinced, because only months ago, he said that he was comfortable with it. And then he claimed to have been betrayed. Even his wife supported him."
Earlier, on July 26, 2022, a police complaint was filed against Ranveer Singh by a Mumbai-based NGO following the online publication of the photos from his nude shoot. The actor later did an interview with Paper magazine, in which he publicly and explicitly bashed all his haters. Ranveer said:

"It's so easy for me to be physically naked, but in some of my performances, I've been naked. You can see my soul. How naked is that? That's being actually naked. I can be naked in front of a thousand people, I don't give a crap. It's just that they get uncomfortable."
Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Ashish Shah, who photographed the actor during the nude shoot, opened up about Ranveer's performance on set. He revealed that the actor hadn't been the least bit shy or conscious and had performed exceedingly well. According to Ashish, he and Ranveer had had a 'big and healthy mutual respect for each other.'
Creative director, Kshitij Kankaria later revealed to Brut that the photos had never been sent online or via email for fear of leaks. The images were kept in a pen drive and 'very secretly' taken for printing and developing. Following the same, all the images were deleted and the pen drive was brought back. Kshitij stated that they were extremely cautious and things like these could easily go wrong.
