The supremely talented actress, Muskkaan Jaferi is going to play a major role in the upcoming film, which is based on the life of filmmaker, Nasir Shaikh. Muskkaan's film, Superboys Of Malegaon, premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and is expected to be released in India in 2025.
Talking about Muskkaan Jaferi's acting career, while most people are aware of her work in Mismatched as 'Celine Metthews', not everyone knows about the origin of her journey. For the uninitiated, the actress turned heads for the first time with her acting when she made her debut in the short film, Medium. However, Muskkaan's second major project was with Hollywood director, Don Sefton, who cast her in his television series, The Good Karma Hospital.
After this, it was Indian filmmaker, Vandana Kataria, who cast Muskkaan Jaferi in her English-language film, Nobleman, which was released on Netflix. The critics and viewers were mesmerised by Muskkaan's work and instantly realised that she was one for the future. After a gap of three years, Muskkaan made a stellar comeback on Netflix with the web series, The Fame Game. Once, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Madhuri Dixit opened up about working with Muskkaan Jaferi. The iconic actress lauded the youngster and admitted that she has the potential to become a big star in the film industry. However, she also shared that Muskkaan never told her that she was the daughter of one of the biggest comedians in Indian cinema to date, Jagdeep Jaffrey. Recalling her conversation with Muskkaan, Madhuri said:
"Muskaan never told me that she was Jagdeep's daughter and Javed's half-sister. I was like, 'Why didn't you tell me.' Muskaan replied to this, 'I want to be recognised for my name and work."
For the uninitiated, Muskkaan Jaferi is the daughter of legendary comedian and actor, Jagdeep Jaffrey and Najima Jaffrey. The iconic actor passed away on July 8, 2020, due to prolonged illness and with his demise, the golden era of comedians in Indian cinema ended. Jagdeep has worked with some of the greatest actors in Hindi cinema in a career spanning six decades. He was such a huge personality in Hindi cinema that India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, gave his personal staff to Jagdeep for some time as a token of appreciation for his work in PL Santoshi's film, Hum Panchhi Ek Dal.
Jagdeep Jaferi got married three times in his life and has six children from his three wives. His first marriage was with Naseem Begum, and the ex-couple welcomed three kids, Hussain Jaffery, Suraiya Jaffery, and Shakira Shafi. Jagdeep's second marriage was with Sughra Begam, and the latter gave birth to two sons, Jaaved Jaaferi and Naved Jaaferi. The iconic actor's third marriage was with Najima and the couple welcomed a baby girl whom they had named Muskkaan.
Well, the reason why we haven't seen Muskkaan Jaferi and Jaaved Jaaferi together at events or parties is because they reportedly share some differences. As per multiple reports, Jaaved was unhappy with his father, Jagdeep Jaffrey's third marriage with Najima. For the uninitiated, Jagdeep once talked to a family for his son, Naved's marriage and the two families met at the comedian's home. While Naved refused to marry at that time because he wanted to focus on his career, it was his father, Jagdeep, who instantly fell in love with the elder sister of the girl with whom his son, Naved was almost getting married.
Despite being married two times and having five kids, Jagdeep Jaffrey was reluctant to marry again and even proposed to the girl. Surprisingly, Najima accepted his marriage proposal, and they got married. It was a massive blow for Jagdeep's son, Jaaved Jaaferi, who couldn't believe that his father got married to a girl, who was 33 years younger than him. Since then, an invisible gap has reportedly been established between the father-son duo, Jagdeep and Jaaved. As a result, we have rarely seen half-siblings, Jaaved and Muskkaan together. We hope Muskkaan takes her family's legacy to an even bigger level in the coming future.
