Muslim Girl Married A Hindu Man, Dons Mom's Saree For 'Nikah' And Sabyasachi Lehenga For 'Pheras'

There is nothing more beautiful than getting married to the love of your life. And the joy doubles when you overcome the hurdles of life and get your entire family's approval. Well, such is the story of the bride of the week, Meher Mumtaz Kachwala, who tied the knot with Neil Bhatt in an interfaith wedding in Malibu. The couple respected Hindu and Muslim rituals and incorporated them into their destination wedding. 

The couple's wedding is an inspiration for those who think inter-faith marriages don't work. Meher and Neil have known each other since 2017 when they first met through a common friend. The couple, who hails from San Francisco got married earlier in a civil ceremony. However, they chose Malibu for their weekend destination wedding.

The bride donned her mother's nikah saree for the civil ceremony

For the civil ceremony, the bride picked her mother's nikah saree. She looked stunning in the dual-toned saree. However, the only hiccup was that she didn't have a blouse to wear with it. But it was her groom, who surprised her by stitching a matching blouse just a day before their wedding.

The bride kept her look subtle with minimal earrings. Soft makeup and open hair completed her look. On the other hand, the groom looked handsome in a tuxedo.

The bride opted for Rahul Mishra's lehenga for nikah

Later, the couple got married in a grand way in Malibu. For her nikah ceremony, the bride picked a beautiful lehenga from the ace designer, Rahul Mishra. The outfit was inspired by Mughal miniature paintings, the artwork is rendered in over 115 hues of resham threads over 3700 human hours of time. The ivory-hued lehenga with floral thread-work detailing accentuated her nikah look.

Bride picked Sabyasachi Mukherjee's red lehenga for her pheras

The couple included all the wedding rituals of their wedding including Hindu pheras. For the phera ceremony, the bride donned a beautiful minimalistic red lehenga from Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Her outfit comprised a closed-neck choli with a flared lehenga skirt and an organza dupatta, which was a breath of freshness.
