India is a perfect blend of several cultures and religions. Despite their differences, the people often come together to show pure acts of kindness and love. A Muslim couple did something similar as they showed pure love and affection to their adopted Hindu daughter.
A Muslim couple from Kerala, Abdulla and Khadeeja, broke all norms and showed that love and affection cannot be bound by religion or caste. In a kind gesture, the couple had adopted a 10-year-old Hindu girl after her parents passed away in 2008. Rajeshwari was born in Tamil Nadu and later adopted by Abdulla and Khadeeja after an unfortunate incident took away her parents.
Rajeshwari's parents worked for Abdulla and Khadeeja in their fields, and that is how the couple met Rajeshwari. They raised the little girl like her own, and what really won our hearts was that they never tried to change her or her religion. However, that is not all, after raising Rajeshwari with immense affection for 12 years the duo found their adopted daughter a Hindu boy and got her married.
Rajeshwari was raised like their own by Abdulla and Khadeeja. And once she turned 22, they found their daughter a Hindu boy and arranged for her marriage. Rajeswari tied the knot with her partner in 2020. Her parents, Abdulla and Khadeeja, spoke with News Minute and shared they had very specific requirements for their daughter. Abdulla was quoted as saying:
"We had told a few people to get her a good boy. A few boys came but we did not like them after a detailed inquiry. We were very particular about the character of the boy who would marry our daughter. Our main demand was that he should be a teetotaler."
Abdulla had shared with News18 that he had just returned from Dubai when they started looking for a suitable groom for their daughter, Rajeshwari. He revealed that they soon got a proposal from Vishnu Prasad, son of Balachandran and Jayanthi, at Puthiyakotta near Kanhangad, some 25 kilometres away from their own village in the hills of Kerala.

When asked about the wedding expenses, Abdulla revealed that Rajeshwari was one of them, and he and his sons had saved up for her wedding. He also shared that the groom's family had only one demand for the wedding, which was that it should take place at a temple. He stated:
"So we chose a temple in Kanhangad where there is no bar on any religion and hence we could also attend the ceremony."
In an interview with News18, the couple shared that they had raised Rajeshwari as their own. Abdulla shared how they didn't have a daughter, so they raised Rajeshwari as the sister of their three biological sons and gave her all the love. He also added that while he doesn't know much about Rajeshwari's relatives, they didn't care for her parents and their daughter, Rajeshwari.
What are your thoughts on Abdulla and Khadeeja raising Rajeshwari as their own?
