Popular Indian actress, Arzoo Govitrikar, who had worked in movies and television shows like, Baghban, Mere Baap Pehle Aap, CID, Naagin 2, and many others, is in headlines after she filed for divorce from her husband, Siddharth Sabharwal. The actress accused her husband of torturing her with verbal abuse and domestic violence in her legal plea.
For the unversed, Arzoo Govitrikar and her husband, Siddharth Sabharwal are facing many irreconcilable issues in their marriage for the last two years. On February 19, 2019, Arzoo had filed a complaint against her husband, stating domestic violence as the reason. She had revealed that the argument got heated over his drinking habit. After which, Siddharth had dragged her inside the bathroom around 4 in the night and had brutishly hit her.

Despite trying her best efforts to bring their marital life back on track, Arzoo Govitrikar has finally made up her mind and has moved to the court to seek legal separation from her husband, Siddharth Sabharwal. In an interview with ETimes, Arzoo Govitrikar stated that she has already sacrificed her pride to save her marriage from falling apart. But now, the weight of this trauma is too much for her to take. Hence, she doesn't want to continue it further. She said, "Yes, I have filed for divorce. Enough is enough, and I am not going to take this lying down anymore. I swallowed my pride; I tried, and I tried my best. But I couldn't continue with Siddharth."
Going further in her interview, Arzoo Govitrikar talked about the major issues that she is still facing with her husband, and her painful reasons will surely make you numb. Arzoo said, "I will talk today. I want to tell you that he has pulled me by my neck and tried to throw me out of the flat. He has slapped me. He has kicked me in my stomach. There were days when I was beaten up black and blue, and I couldn't come out because I didn't want my bruises to be seen."

If you think this is way too much traumatic in nature, the next allegation from Arzoo Govitrikar on her husband is of torturing her with casteist abuses during their fights. The devastated actress stated, "Mujhe bahut gandi gaaliyan deta tha. Imagine, he even hurled casteist abuses at me. He also told me that I am a bai (maid)."
Arzoo Govitrikar also talked about her damaged mental health and stated that she now finds it extremely hard to sleep at night because of her fights with her husband. Reflecting on the same, she said, "I suffered blackouts and my hands and legs used to swell up. I stopped getting sleep and if I managed to sleep then I would suddenly wake up at 2 am."
At the end of her interview, Arzoo Govitrikar added that her husband, Siddharth Sabharwal, had beaten her up for the first time, after two years of their marriage. The incident had created a big void in their relationship, and the married couple had started sleeping in different rooms. After a while, she had discovered that her husband was cheating on her with his Russian girlfriend. In her concluding statement, Arzoo clearly stated that she has her husband's chats with his Russian girlfriend, along with CCTV footage of his domestic violence.

Arzoo Govitrikar was last seen in the television show, Naagin 2, in which she had portrayed the character, Manjusha.
