Naved Shaikh, popularly known as Naezy, is a famous Indian rapper from Mumbai. He achieved new heights with his stint on Bigg Boss OTT 3, where he survived for 42 days in the house, made it to the finale, and emerged as the runner-up. Naezy first rose to prominence with his popular rap song, Mere Gully Mein, with fellow rapper, Divine. The story of these two talented rappers served as the inspiration for Zoya Akhtar's 2019 film, Gully Boy. Recently, Naezy shared a fascinating glimpse into his life story, addressing rift rumours, life outside the limelight, and more.

Naezy addresses rift rumours with Divine and controversy with Pakistani rapper, Talha Anjum

Naezy and Divine haven't been spotted together in a long time despite once sharing a close bond. Well, in a recent interview with Mashable, the rapper rubbished the rumours of a rift, claiming that the pair were 'still brothers.' Talking about why they no longer hung out as much as before, Naezy said:

"Divine has achieved success, and I haven't reached that level yet. His circle has changed, so we don't meet often. But we are still brothers and have no problems with each other. We've been enjoying life together for years."

Naezy also discussed his ongoing feud with Pakistani rapper, Talha Anjum. In an interview, the former claimed not to recognize Talha, which sparked fury in the latter. Naezy doubled down on his statements, saying that 12 Bajay rapper was only safe because he was in Pakistan and not India. The rapper also alleged that Talha wrote a diss track for him, in which he abused Naezy. In Naezy's words:

"He thinks everyone knows him and that he is like AR Rahman. He's safe because he's in Pakistan. Now, he cannot visit India. In Mumbai, he would have been beaten like a dog."

Naezy reflects on his school days and becoming a thief when he fell into bad company

Naezy did his schooling at St. Joseph's School in Kurla. Even as a little boy, the rapper was known for his mischievous personality. In fact, Naezy was once thrashed by the school principal for breaking a toilet door. The rapper would often bunk school and swim in the river while pretending to be in class. Naezy further stated that it was studying in an English school that first instilled in him an inclination for hip-hop music. On a tender note, the rapper mentioned having a crush in school. However, he never ended up confessing his feelings to her, and she is now married.

Soon after finishing school, though, Naezy fell in with the wrong crowd, so much so that he ended up becoming a thief. The rapper committed petty crimes, stealing items such as balls, music CDs, ice cream packs, and cassettes from stores like Planet M. Later, Naezy would commit bigger crimes and steal bicycles. However, he avoided being caught for a long time. But as he grew up, he realised the path he was headed down, especially after being severely beaten by the police when caught.
