Former actress and a full-time seasoned politician, Nagma made her grand debut in the Salman Khan starrer, Baghi- A Rebel For Love in 1990. The film became one of the most highest-grossing movies at the box-office, something that gave her immense stardom. Subsequently, she went on to appear in a lot of other movies like Yalgaar, King Uncle among others.
She also did a considerable amount of films in Tollywood, making her an almost pan-Indian sensation. But quite the opposite of her film career has been her personal life. Nagma has had her fair share of relationships, which never attained fulfilment. Fast forward to today, she is an active politician and a spinster at 48.
Speaking about her sombre personal life, the one name that comes right at the top is that of the legendary Indian cricketer, Sourav Ganguly. The duo was in a serious relationship in 2001, when the actor was already married to his wife, Dona Ganguly. The rumours of their relationship became so strong that shortly after a while, it was speculated that the duo had already gotten married secretly in a temple in Andhra Pradesh.
Moreover, people also began to make Nagma the reason behind the frequent failures of Sourav at the cricket ground, labelling her as a distraction in his life. Unfortunately, after a few years, the duo called it quits without any apparent reason. Interestingly, after not speaking about their affair for the longest time, it was after their breakup that Nagma came out to spill the beans on it. In her words:
“A smaller interest had to be sacrificed for bigger interests... When a game is being played, people should understand it is a sport. It's very weird that people started getting carried away. Whenever India played, people said that a person was not doing well because he was emotionally attached. This is so juvenile.”

After her complete emotional breakdown post-breakup with Sourav Ganguly, Nagma decided to focus on her career and started to work relentlessly in South Indian films. But, as destiny would have wanted it otherwise, she fell in love with actor tuned MP, Sharath Kumar. Interestingly, Sharath was also married by then and so their affair had to be kept a high secret. However, when Sharath’s wife learnt about his affair, she broke all relations with him and the couple got divorced. On the other hand, as the news about Nagma’s affair with Sharath spread like wildfire, she too called off her relationship. After such a scandalous controversy, Nagma was forced to withdraw from acting in Tollywood as her once lover, Sharath started to give her death threats post their breakup.

Even after facing such brutal reactions against her acting career down south, Nagma was never demotivated. In fact, she started to look for greener pastures and came back to Mumbai. That is when she headed to try her luck in Bhojpuri films and fell in love with her frequent co-star in the industry, Ravi Kishan. Interestingly, things were quite different with Ravi. Despite being an already married man, he did not have any objections to openly speaking about his affair with Nagma. Moreover, his wedded wife also seemed to accept this fact gladly. In an interview once, Ravi spoke at length about his relationship with Nagma and mentioned:
“My friends and family are aware of my relationship with Nagma. My wife has accepted Nagma as a beautiful part of my life. I don't lie to my wife about her. She's gracious enough to accept that there can be a special relationship between a man and a woman outside of marriage. I'm not the first nor the last married man to have an intimate relationship with another woman.”

Setting an uncommon example, Ravi Kishan was thereafter seen to be painting the town red with his excessive devotion to both his wife and Nagma. In yet another interview, he spilled beans on the beautiful relationship his wedded wife shares with Nagma and revealed that the duo has no problem in bonding with one another. In his words:
“Nagma accepts that I wouldn't leave my wife and children. We're living in the moment. We don't even talk about the future. In fact, Nagma comes home and often cooks along with my wife. My wife has full faith in me. And I'd never let her down. In fact, she encourages me to sign films with Nagma. 'Your friendship shows in your work,' she says. My wife doesn't think of Nagma as a home-breaker."
Unfortunately, things came to a bitter end for Nagma in what was seen as a perfectly sailing relationship. Ravi Kishan’s emotions towards the actress changed after he became a part of the reality show, Bigg Boss Bhojpuri’s first season. Staying in the show, he realised that his love and devotion were always intact for his wife more than Nagma. Thereafter, Nagma too walked away from their relationship.
Nagma moved on in her life yet again and flung herself into work completely. Working in the Bhojpuri film industry itself, Nagma became associated with another popular actor in the industry, Manoj Tiwari. Manoj was supposed to be an arch-rival of Ravi Kishan and therefore, Nagma’s close affections for the former was understood as a means of her revenge against Ravi Kishan. In an interview later in her life, Nagma dismissed all such rumours of her affair with Manoj. In her words:
“Just because I'm working with him doesn't mean there is something going on between us. Please spare me! Both Ravi and Manoj are married men."
Well, even after so many heartbreaks, Nagma has come out bold and strong. At the age of 48, the actress is proudly single.
