Namita Thapar is the Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals. However, she gained immense stardom with her stint on the business reality show, Shark Tank India. She has been appearing as an investor in all the seasons of the show. In addition, she is also loved for her advocacy towards various problems related to women in society. She has never stopped herself from speaking her heart out. Yet again, something similar happened when she raised her voice towards the taboos related to infertility in women.
Taking to her IG handle, Namita Thapar shared a video, wherein she bravely opened up about dealing with IVF and infertility issues. At the beginning of the video, a clip was taken from the sets of the show, Shark Tank India, wherein she was heard talking about her struggles. Namita revealed undergoing the IVF treatment twice in her life and also talked about the pain a woman has to go through during that time. The entrepreneur further mentioned how she kept a mum about the same for twelve long years and finally got the courage to open up about the same. She was heard saying:
"Do infertility treatments I have gone through aur wo jo 25 injections hotey hai har treatment mein, wo jo physical emotional trauma hota hai, you will litrellay those taboos of crossing your legs, paer upar rakho matlb sab stupid cheejein aap karte hai. Iske baarein main 12 saal tak bol nhi payi. Kyun? Isme kya sharm ki baat hai? This is something which we should all talk about. Infertility is on the rise. Bahut mahilaye maa asani se nhi bann paa rhi hai, we need to get educated about this. Let's not judge. Let's not shame. Let's support. Let's break the taboos. Let's help more women become mothers."

Afterwards, Namita asked her female followers not to shame or judge others for going through such problems as infertility issues. She instead tried her best to raise concerns towards the same. In addition, she asked everyone to come out from the societal taboos and also extended her wishes to all mothers. Well, Namita's video was indeed quite inspiring for many mothers going through the same turmoil. Sharing the video, she captioned the post as:
"A woman loses 90% of her eggs by age 30!! Motherhood is a personal choice, there are no wrong or right answers but if you choose to be a mom, get educated about your fertility. Watch my episode # 40 on ‘egg freezing’ & # 15 on ‘discussion on infertility’."

As soon as Namita's video surfaced on social media, netizens started reacting to the same. While one social media user mentioned, "Kudos to you Namita for bringing such important topics to light and discussing despite the age old taboos in India" another penned, "Right education and awareness spreading in society . Some percentage of people not understand treating woman."

Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Namita Thapar talked about the challenges she faced in hailing from an affluent family. She mentioned how kids from these families are called upon as 'nepo-kids'. However, she mentioned that these children also used to have a fair share of struggles. Casting an example of how her company's net worth has risen since her joining, Namita added that when she joined Emcure, they were of Rs. 500 crore net worth. However, now, her company stands at Rs. 8000 crore. She mentioned that to take it to that level as a group, the second and third generations also need to have an entrepreneurial mindset.
For the unversed, Namita is married to Vikas Thapar, who holds a key position at the Emcure Management team for the past 15 years. The couple is blessed with two children, Jai Thapar and Vir Thapar.
