Shark Tank India has been one of the top-rated shows in the television industry. While the show became a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams, it also introduced some of our country's hidden entrepreneurs and investors. One such entrepreneur is Namita Thapar, who is the Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals. The entrepreneur is undoubtedly an inspiration for many as she is a self-made name in the world of entrepreneurs. Namita is an example of a strong individual who stands against all the odds and reaches greater heights by believing in their dreams and keeps working hard for the same. Namita's successful career was not a bed of roses, and she has talked about the same in several interviews. And now, the entrepreneur has opened up about the societal taboos she has faced since her childhood.
In an IG post, Namita Thapar opened up about the societal taboos she had suffered. The advocate of mental health, Namita shared that she has been trolled a lot at Shark Tank. She also mentioned that she has struggled a lot with anxiety for many years. Further, in the post, Namita shared that she was made fun of because of her facial hair and being overweight.

The gorgeousness then shared that she had an 'overachieving' family, and if she ever came second than first, it was like someone died at their home. Speaking along the same line, Namita shared how she suffered from anxiety and stated that anxiety is something that has the ability to paralyse. In the same post, Namita Thapar encouraged everyone to come forward and seek help if it is needed. She also mentioned that the first important thing in life for everyone is to love themselves and be kind to themselves. Namita stated:
"I was trolled a lot at Shark Tank...I have struggled with anxiety a lot for many years. I didn’t like myself. I had very low self-esteem. I was made fun of a lot for being overweight, for my facial hair. If I stood second instead of first in an overachieving family, it was like someone had died at home. There were days I had massive brain fog. Guys, anxiety can paralyse you. Why do we need to be a superwoman? Why are we made to feel guilty for being selfish?”

Well, this is not the first time Namita Thapar has opened up about the tough days of her life. Earlier, in a heart-to-heart conversation with Chetan Bhagat in his podcast, Namita opened up about the tough time of her life. The entrepreneur revealed that as she had facial hair on her upper lip, she was called 'Mishi wali porgi', 'moti'.

Namita shared that it all made her feel ugly, and she had very low self-esteem. Further in the same conversation, Namita mentioned that she had worked hard on herself over the years. She also mentioned that she put on a lot of weight, making her the target of body shaming.
