Indian multi-billionaire and the Founder of Infosys, N.R. Narayana Murthy, has been making headlines for his latest gesture. Murthy has gifted his four-month-old grandson, Ekagrah Rohan Murthy, shares worth over Rs. 240 crores. The businessman's decision has probably made Ekagrah the youngest millionaire in India. For those who don't know, Narayan Murthy started his Infosys journey with USD 250 in 1981 and made it one of India's most respected companies with his hard work and dedication.
If reports are to be believed, Ekagrah has acquired a total of 15 lakh shares or 0.04 per cent stake in India's second-largest IT company. This acquisition has reduced Murthy's share in Infosys from 0.40 per cent to 0.36 per cent, i.e. a decrease of 1.51 crore shares. The report further revealed that the mode of transaction was off-market.

Rohan Murthy is one of the few children of billionaires in the world who decided to build their own empire and everything from scratch. It's incredible how Rohan turned down the opportunity to be the Vice President of a Rs. 600,000 crore firm, Infosys, to start his own startup. However, as per Business Today, Rohan received a sum of Rs. 106.42 crores in dividend income from his 6,08,12,892 shares in Infosys.
For the uninitiated, Sudha Murthy and Narayan Murthy's son, Rohan Murthy, has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Harvard University. He was earlier married to Lakshmi Venu from the TVS group, but they parted ways in 2015. Later, in 2019, Rohan tied the knot with Aparna after dating her for three years. Rohan Murthy and Aparna Krishnan welcomed a baby boy, Ekagrah, in November 2023. The significance of Murthy's grandson's name is that it means unwavering focus and determination in Sanskrit.
