Natasha Poonawalla is a queen when it comes to serving the most exquisite looks on the MET Gala red carpet. The businesswoman has an amazing sense of fashion, and her creative collaboration never fails to amaze us. However, this time, she didn't just win the desi MET Gala looks but also represented one of the oldest forms of embroidery in Indian culture on a global platform.
The beauty designers can create on fabric is truly mesmerising, and when the material is given to a master of craft like Manish Malhotra, magic is destined to happen. Natasha Poonawalla collaborated with the fashion icon, Manish Malhotra for the grand gala. The businesswoman looked like a vision of sculpted opulence as she redefined what it meant to see ancestral wealth with a contempt lens.
Natasha followed the theme of this year's MET Gala, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, and turned it into a celebration of aesthetics, resistance, and individuality rooted in Black dandyism. However, she had a great team that brought her vision to life. Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania and Lakshmi Lehr, Natasha's attire was truly magical. The garment was made using the rare ektaar technique. For the unversed, this technique requires the design to be made with a single unbroken thread. Layered beneath was a vintage French lace bralette and a corset-cummerbund, which further added to the central theme of dandyism. Manish shared the details of the outfit and penned:

"The Empress of Indian Fashion @natasha.poonawalla reigns supreme at 2025 #MetGala, draped in an exquisite fusion of armour, artistry, and ancestry. A vision of dandyism woven with the heritage and legacy of Indian Gara embroidery."
While Manish Malhotra showed his genius craftsmanship in the design, Anaita Shroff Adajania and Lakshmi Lehr completed the vision with their eye for details. They paired the look with a theatrical lace cravat, which was designed by Atelier Biser, and a ruff collar that framed her face like a Renaissance portrait adding to the regal touch of Natasha's ensemble. The look was completed with a single emerald ring, which added an air of regalness to her attire. Further, Natasha slicked her hair in a tight bun, with makeup resembling that of a porcelain doll, with flushed dark cheeks.
