Navya Naveli Nanda has been a true-blue starlet, reigning all over the internet with her commendable works. Granddaughter of eminent actors, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, Navya decided to step away from the world of glitz and glamour and instead established herself as an entrepreneur turned social media influencer. Recently, she has been entertaining audiophiles with her unique podcast show, What The Hell Navya, wherein she discusses about various topics along with her mother, Shweta Bachchan and her grandmother, Jaya Bachchan.
In a recent interaction with News18, Navya Nanda opened up about the massive attention and popularity that her podcast series, What The Hell Navya has been garnering at the moment. The show recently started off with its second season, after a successful first season. Talking about the same, Navya remarked that the entire credit goes to her mother, Shweta Bachchan, who manifested the idea of having a podcast with three women from different generations of the family. Adding how it all stemmed from their casual conversations at home during lockdown, Navya mentioned:

“It’s been a long journey now, we’re at season 2. Season 1 was the brainchild of something all three of us thought of during the lockdown. We all live together, so every evening we sit, similar to how we do on the show, and talk about many many different things. It was actually my mom’s idea to turn this into a podcast.”

Moving further in the interaction, Navya Nanda mentioned that the idea of their podcast was to simplify having difficult conversations between three women across different generations in the same family. Revoking her mother, Shweta Bachchan’s thought about the same, Navya said:
“She felt that maybe if you have three women from the same family, but different generations, sit and actually have those hard conversations, it might spark a thought here or there. It might encourage people to speak more openly about certain things. That’s really where the motivation for the show came from.”
For the unversed, the Bachchan clan has been under the radar of public gossip, ever since rumours of an alleged feud between Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with her in-laws has surfaced. While none of the family members have ever commented on the same, the rumours never die. Previously, in an interview with a leading daily, Navya made a rare comment about her cousin, Aaradhya Bachchan and remarked how she feels lucky to have the latter in the family. Moreover, she credited Aaradhya’s sense of maturity and understanding, and added how the latter doesn’t require any guidance or advice, as she is pretty aware about the things that happen around her.

Earlier, in an interview with India Today, Navya Nanda talked about facing constant public opinion and scrutiny due to the prestigious surnames she carries, of both the Nandas and the Bachchans. The young entrepreneur reveals that she doesn’t pay heed to any of it, as she believes every person has a last name, which carries some amount of respect and dignity. In her words:
“It’s an interesting question! People usually keep talking about my last name and legacy and I love reminding people that everyone has a last name. It is not just my responsibility to live up to mine but everyone has a last name that means something that demands value and respect.”
