Navya Posts Old Pic Of Amitabh Bachchan-Jaya On Their 51st Anniversary, Abhishek-Shweta Skip Wishing

Bollywood stalwarts, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan are undoubtedly one of the ‘It’ couples in Tinseltown. The duo tied the knot on June 3, 1973, and then welcomed their two children, Abhishek and Shweta, into their lives. Amitabh and Jaya have also shared screen space in various blockbuster hit films including Sholay. The veteran couple is celebrating their 51st wedding anniversary in 2024, and to celebrate the milestone occasion, their beloved granddaughter posted a special picture of them.

On June 3, 2024, Shweta Bachchan’s daughter, Navya Naveli Nanda took to her Instagram stories and shared a throwback picture of her grandparents. Meanwhile, Amitabh and Jaya’s children, Abhishek and Shweta, and their daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, skipped wishing them on their special day. In the picture, a young Amitabh and Jaya can be seen romantically posing for the lens. Sharing the photo, Navya wrote, “51 years…Happy Anniversary,” atop the picture.

When Shweta Bachchan revealed if Navya would join Bollywood

Contrary to her grandparents, maternal uncle and brother, Navya chose a different path professionally. Recently, her mother, Shweta Bachchan also cleared the air around such speculations and mentioned that she won’t be venturing into Bollywood. During an event for podcasters, where she was awarded the Best Female Podcaster Award for her podcast, What The Hell Navya, Shweta Bachchan said:

“I think you are very well acquainted with the work Navya does and she has her hands full. I don't think Bollywood is the way to go for her."

While Shweta Bachchan skipped wishing her parents on their marriage anniversary this time, she penned a beautiful post on Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan’s 50th marriage anniversary, which they celebrated on June 3, 2023. Shweta shared an unseen throwback picture of her parents. While her mother was elegantly decked up in a beautiful saree, her father, Amitabh Bachchan looked lovingly at his wife. Shweta captioned the post as:

“Happy 50th parents ~ now you're "Golden" once on being asked what the secret to a long marriage is, my mother answered - love, and I think my fathers was - the wife is always right. That's the long & short of it !!”

In 2023, even Abhishek posted several throwback pictures of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan to wish them on their 50th marriage anniversary. Moreover, there was a picture of the couple from their wedding ceremony as well. Sharing the glimpses on his IG, Abhishek wished:

“Adding to the list of the many Golden Jubilees to their credit…. But this, is by far the most special one. Happy 50th wedding anniversary Ma and Pa!”
