Bollywood's ace star, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, is known for his on-screen versatility, but there is a personal side of his which is not known to anyone. He recently shared about the beautiful bond he has with his young daughter, Shora and reveals that there are times when he is strict with her. The actor shared how Shora is someone who always keeps him grounded, and his biggest struggle has always been balancing a tough career and a family life.
Nawazuddin sat down for an interview with The New Indian Express and shared his equation with Shora, who is currently studying in Dubai. He revealed that he is deeply attached to her, sharing that she is the apple of his eyes and very dear to him. Nawazuddin has credited his daughter for keeping him grounded and shared:
"I yell at her sometimes, but she is very dear to me. She is a moohphat (straightforward). She criticises me. The best part is she is not in awe of me. She doesn’t care that her father is a great actor — in two minutes, she can criticise me. She hasn’t even watched many of my movies."
Nawazuddin has carved out a niche for himself in the Bollywood film industry with movies such as Gangs Of Wasseypur, Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Raees, to name a few. Shora may also follow in her papa's footsteps, whose journey in the film industry began from humble beginnings. Nawazuddin took a long time to achieve global fame, but it's inspiring to see him credit his daughter for helping him stay grounded and rooted. He is one of the finest stars of the generation, but his simplicity and love towards his daughter, Shora, are a testament to his exceptional fatherhood.
The actor has fought hard for the custody of his kids, and in a settlement proposal earlier, Aaliya claimed that the actor had no part in raising Shora and their son, Yaani. She alleged that their emotional upheaval affected their academics. Nawazuddin was also accused of being an absent dad who did not give time to his kids. She alleged that her kids have been with her since birth and don't want to go to their dad. Aaliya, in an interview with the Hindustan Times shared:
"For a long time, Nawaz used to just come and meet. He didn’t give enough time to the kids. So, they don’t know what that relationship with father in reality is. Kaabhi aa gaye toh le gaye apne saath. Kishtun mein pyaar mila hai. In fact, there are times when I ask her whether she wants to go and stay with him, and insists that she doesn’t want to go. My second kid is very small, and papa is one word he says rarely."
Aaliya further alleged that her relationship with Nawazuddin was nothing less than toxic. She revealed it was not at all a pleasant experience as the actor had changed as an individual. She revealed that he was more focused on achieving fame and made allegations against her that she wanted to resolve in court. The court had then made the decision for Nawazuddin's kids to move to Dubai with Aaliya.
