One of the most versatile actors in the film industry, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has proved his acting mettle in various films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Talaash, Bombay Talkies, Raman Raghav 2.0, Raees and many more. In his personal life, he got married to his ex-girlfriend, Aaliya after a broken marriage in the year 2009 and the duo was blessed with two children, Shora Siddiqui and Yaani Siddiqui. Things went well until 2020, when Aaliya made serious allegations against him and demanded a divorce. However, later she withdrew the same, stating that they are trying to keep their differences aside for the sake of the kids. Once again, Aaliya reached out to the media claiming how her mother-in-law misbehaved with her.
Post the tension that was stirred between Nawaz and Aaliya, she was living with her kids, Shora and Yaani in Dubai. Upon her return to Mumbai, Aaliya mentioned to ETimes that the actor was out of town and his mother didn't allow her to enter his home. For the unversed, on January 23, 2023, Aaliya was legally asked to appear before the Versova police station, as a complaint was filed against her under IPC sections 452, 323, 504 and 506, for trespassing and criminal intimidation, among other charges. Moreover, Aaliya revealed that her mother-in-law mentioned that Nawaz and her's second child, Yaani is illegitimate and created havoc. Since Aaliya is dealing with bad financial conditions, she can't even return to Dubai. In her words:
“My finances are in a bad condition and since I don’t have my passport right now to travel to Dubai, I returned to my rightful husband’s home. But my sister-in-law Shaba and mother-in-law Mehrunnisa asked me to leave instantly. My mother-in-law went on to say that Nawaz and I were divorced and that my second child is also illegitimate. Making such allegations and dragging a child into this is so hurtful. After all this, they have now filed a police complaint against me.”

Further, in the same conversation, Aaliya mentioned that she wasn't even given a blanket to sleep through the entire wintry night and also called the police to move her out of the house. Moreover, Aaliya also revealed that during her appendix operation, Nawaz and his family didn't take care of her. Aaliya added:
“Ever since I returned from Dubai, I have been staying with my friends here and there. I underwent an appendix operation and none of them came to even check on me in the hospital. My health has also been affected with all this."
In May 2022, in a conversation with the ETimes, Aaliya had opened up about her plans to return to Mumbai from Dubai with her kids, Shora and Yani. She also revealed that Nawaz frequently visited his wife and kids in Dubai. Moreover, she mentioned that she had faced huge losses with the release of her movie, Holy Cow and since Nawaz was also not helping her financially, she was in a very worse condition. She had said:
“After this academic year, I will bring my kids back home, right now they are under the care of a trusted maid. Nawaz used to visit us on and off in Dubai. However, recently his manager Anup went to Dubai and took my daughter Shora for a FIFA match in Qatar. I was not comfortable with my 12-year-old being sent off with someone I don’t know well and raised the same with Nawaz too. I have taken care of my kids till now and will continue to do so. I faced massive losses with the release of my movie ‘Holy Cow’ because it didn’t get a proper release. All my money went into making the movie and Nawaz doesn’t support me financially. He only supports the kids, I have to fend for myself and the situation is very sad.”

Earlier, on December 11, 2022, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was spotted along with her daughter, Shora Siddiqui while exiting the airport together. It was Shora's first public appearance while she was spotted walking by her father's side. In the glimpses, Shora wore a navy blue t-shirt paired with a denim jacket and denim pants. On the other hand, Nawazuddin looked dapper in an all-black look.
