South Indian actress, Nayanthara and her longtime fiance, Vignesh Shivan had tied the knot with each other on June 9, 2022, in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu. Their wedding ceremony was definitely a star-studded one, and Bollywood's superstar, Shah Rukh Khan was also present over there. For the unversed, the newly married duo had met while the actress was doing Vignesh's directorial debut, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, in 2016. Afterwards, they had gradually fallen in love and were in a steady relationship for a long time.
Just after the grand wedding, on June 9, 2022, Vignesh Shivan had taken to his Instagram handle and had shared blissful moments with his wife, Nayanthara. In the pictures, the duo was seen decked up in their wedding ensembles, and their happiness was simply visible on their faces. Sharing the pictures, Vignesh had lauded his ladylove and had penned:
"Am Married! Just the Beginning of a bigger, stronger, crazy love story with you my #Thangamey! Love you #Thangamey #Kanmani Kadambari and now my wife."

On May 11, 2022, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan made their first media appearance post their wedding. For the press conference, the just-married bride donned a yellow silk saree paired with temple jewellery which included a long necklace, a choker neckpiece, matching earrings and bangles. She teamed her look with a side-parted hairdo and a glossy makeup which included highlighted cheeks, kohl-rimmed eyes, a bindi, defined brows, brown eyeshadow and glossy lipstick. In addition, she was also seen flaunting her sindoor and mangalsutra, and her bridal glow was simply unmissable. On May 10, 2022, a few glimpses from the newly-married couple, Nayanthara and Vignesh's first visit to the Tirupati temple to seek blessings, post-wedding surfaced on the internet. In those glimpses, they were seen walking hand-in-hand and had looked beautiful together. In the videos, we could see Nayanthara had donned a bright yellow-coloured saree and had completed her look with heavy jewellery. On the other hand, Vignesh could be seen wearing a traditional ensemble which had included a white-coloured dhoti-kurta. Moreover, he had completed his look with a white-coloured safa and a red-coloured Banarasi doshala.

However, Nayanthara and Vignesh's appearance at the Tirupati temple had landed the actress in a controversy. According to the Chief Vigilance Security officer, Tirumala Tirupati Desvasthanam Board, Narasimha Kishore, the actress was accused of walking on Mada Streets wearing her footwear. He had also added that the couple did a photo shoot at the temple premises, which is against the rules. He had further added that the board has spoken to the actress about the same, and she would apologise for her action, by releasing a video in front of the press. Talking about the same, Narasimha had said:
“She is seen roaming with footwear in Mada Streets. Our security immediately reacted. We have also noticed on CCTV that they did a photoshoot there. We are serving notices to Nayanatara. We have also spoken to her and she wanted to release a video to press apologising to Lord Balaji, TTD and pilgrims. However, we are going to serve notices to her.”
