One of the most loved actresses in the South Indian film industry, Nayanthara needs no introduction. Hailed as the lady superstar of South Indian cinema, she has more than 75 films in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam to her credit. With her effortless acting and charming personality, Nayanthara is one of the highest-paid actresses in South India.
Talking about her personal life, she is married to filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, and the couple embraced parenthood with the arrival of their twin boys, Uyir and Ulagam, via surrogacy. For some time, there have been speculations that a documentary on the actress has been in the pipeline. And now the wait is finally over and Nayathara’s much-awaited documentary titled, Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale is streaming on Netflix.

While the documentary features many aspects of Nayathara’s life, it also gives glimpses of her love story with Vignesh. As per the actress, her love story with Vignesh saw many ups and downs. In fact, Vignesh was compared to a dog when the duo made their relationship public. Recalling the same, Vignesh revealed in the documentary:
“When our relationship first became public, the first famous meme that came out was, 'No one can stop it if the beauty chose the beast.' I was compared to a dog. They said Nagoor Biryani was being offered to a dog. The meme had both our pictures on it.”
In the same segment, Vignesh revealed that life is uncertain and what is wrong if the beauty chooses a beast. Revealing how he and Nayan get trolled every now and then, Vignesh shared:
“Why can't the beast land the beauty? What's wrong if the beauty chooses the beast? Life is uncertain. Life is where a bus conductor becomes a superstar. Reaching a certain place in life is not something which happens easily. You have to pay a price for it. And we have to pay it on a monthly basis, sometimes we pay it on a weekly basis.”
Nayanthara revealed she was very disappointed and sad with the way Vignesh was trolled. In a part of her documentary, the Nizhal actress talked about her guilt and said:

“Sometimes, I feel very guilty that if I was not a part of his life, probably his life would have been a little more easier and maybe happier and better.
For the uninitiated, it was in 2015 that Nayanthara was cast as the leading actress in Vignesh Shivan's film, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. During the film's shooting, the two fell head-over-heels in love. The couple kept their relationship a secret and dated for a few years before tying the knot in June 2022.
