Nayanthara Observes Fast To Play The Role Of A Goddess In 'Mookuthi Amman 2', Attends 'Muhurat Puja'

Nayanthara will soon be seen essaying the role of Mookuthi Amman 2. However, what made the fans even more excited about its release was the involvement of Sundar C. For the unversed, the reason for the hype to be doubled is that Sundar is known for including divine intervention in his films like the Aranmanai franchise.

Nayanthara starrer, Mookuthi Amman 2's grand muhurath event took place on March 6, 2025. The actress was also in attendance, and Vels Films International's Ishari Ganesh took to the stage and revealed a special preparation Nayanthara was undergoing for the film. He revealed that Nayanthara had been observing a special fast for a few weeks now, ahead of the shooting of Mookuthi Amman 2. Nayanthara took part in this ritual as a homage to the goddess she will be playing in the film. 

He also revealed that Nayanthara did the same for the first part, which was a direct-to-OTT release. For the occasion, Nayanthara was dressed in a vibrant red saree with a contrasting golden-yellow pallu. The traditional saree added elegance to her appearance. She paired the saree with a full-sleeved red blouse. The actress completed the look with a statement gold necklace with an intricate design and a stack of golden bangles. The golden accessories matched the pallu and added a gracious look without taking away the vibrancy of red. 

Nayanthara attends the grand muhurath event

The grand muhurath event included huge sets of a temple, with every known face of Tamil cinema in attendance to wish the team. However, what caught us by surprise was the presence of Nayanthara. While being the lead, it would be assumed as obvious for the actress to be present at the event. But Nayanthara is known to normally not attend the inaugural puja of her films. 

Nayanthara's Mookuthi Amman 2 will be released globally

Mookuthi Amman 2, which stars Nayanthara, Khushbu, Meena, Ravi Mohan, and Vijay, among others, is said to be a high-budget production. Sundar C was signed by Vels Films International right after the blockbuster success of Aranmanai 4. The project will also be marked as the first collaboration between the ace filmmaker and the stellar actress, Nayanthara. And on March 6, 2025, Mookuthi Amman 2 officially went on floors in a rather gala muhurat event.

During his speech, Ishari Ganesh also revealed that the film will be made with an exceedingly high budget. He added that the film will not just be a pan-India project but will have a global release of a grand scale. Mookuthi Amman 2 will see a complete overhaul on the crew front as Sundar C is bringing his core team to work on the sequel. The actor-musician-composer, Tamizha Adhi has been signed as the music director of the sequel, marking his second collaboration with the leading woman of the film, Nayanthara, after Imaikka Nodigal.
