Hailed as the lady superstar of the South Indian film industry, Nayanthara is one of the most influential actresses in the glamour world. The gorgeous diva has often spoken about the ups and downs of her professional journey. However, Nayanthara recently opened up about facing the casting couch.
In a recent media interaction, the Nizhal actress revealed that she was once asked for ‘favours’ in return for a pivotal role in a film. Nayanthara, who is one of the top actresses, boldly rejected the offer as she believed in her talent. The incident not only shocked Nayanthara but also made her understand the dark side of showbiz.
Born as Diana Mariam Kurian, Nayanthara is one of the highest-paid actresses in India. She was the only South Indian actress to be featured in the Forbes India ‘Celebrity 100’ 2018 list, with an annual earning of Rs. 15.17 crore. In a career spanning two decades, Nayanthara has starred in almost 80 films.
It was in 2003 when she made her acting debut with the Malayalam film, Manassinakkare. With films like Raja Rani, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, Aramm, Puthiya Niyam Love Action Drama, Nizhal, Godfather and many more, Nayanthara proved her acting mettle and became the most loved and followed actress down South.
Talking about her personal life, Nayanthara’s name has been linked with many actors, however, she found her soulmate in director, Vignesh Shivan. It was in 2016 when Nayanthara was cast as the leading actress in the film, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, directed by Vignesh Shivan. During the shooting of the film, the two had fallen head-over-heels in love with each other. After seven years of togetherness, the adorable couple took their wedding vows on June 9, 2022, in Mahabalipuram, Chennai.
Four months post their wedding, the couple surprised their fans when they announced the arrival of their twins. Vignesh Shivan had taken to his Twitter handle and announced that he and his darling wife, Nayanthara were blessed with twin boys via surrogacy. In the pictures, the duo was seen kissing and giving a peck of love to their newborns' tiny feet. Along with it, Vignesh also revealed the names of his baby boys as Uyir and Ulagam.
On the work front, Nayanthara will be next seen in the film, Jawan, opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
