It was on June 9, 2022, when the lady superstar of South Indian films, Nayanthara got married to the love of her life, director, Vignesh Shivan in an intimate ceremony. After seven years of togetherness, the adorable couple had taken their wedding vows at Sheraton Grand in Mahabalipuram as per South Indian wedding rituals.
And now as they completed one year of marital bliss, Vignesh penned a heartfelt wish for his thangam, Nayanthara. To wish his soulmate, the director posted an array of pictures of Nayanthara with their twins, Uyir and Ulagam. In the pictures, the baby boys were seen clinging to their mom, Nayanthara as she carried them with love. Along with the pictures, Vignesh wrote:
“En uyiroda Aadharam neengaldhaneyyy 1 year filled with a lotta moments! Lotta Ups and downs. Unexpected setbacks! Testing times! But coming home to see a blessed family with immense love and affection reinstates soo much confidence and gives all the energy to keep running towards all the dreams and goals already manifested! Holding everything together, together with my - My Uyirs & Ulagams. The strength given by the family makes all the difference! blessed with the best of people striving to give them a good life is all the motivation that’s needed for hustlers like me. For the unversed, Nayanthara first met Vignesh on the sets of the 2015 Tamil film, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Their first association together created a strong bond between them, and it developed into a strong connection. Soon, they fell in love and painted the town red with their mushy PDAs. In 2017, Nayanthara and Vignesh announced their relationship in public at an award show in Singapore.
For the wedding, Nayanthara turned into a Jade bride. She looked gorgeous in a vermillion red customised Jade saree designed by Monica and Karishma. The handcrafted saree featured intricate tone-on-tone embroidery along with the carvings of the temples of Hoysala. The sleeves of the blouse featured motifs of Goddess Lakshmi as a tribute to Nayanthara’s love for her tradition. The gorgeous ensemble also had the couple’s names on it. On the other hand, the groom, Vignesh Shivan opted for a handcrafted veshti, kurta and shawl by Jade.

Four months post their wedding, the couple surprised their fans when they announced the arrival of their twins. Vignesh Shivan had taken to his Twitter handle and announced that he and his darling wife, Nayanthara were blessed with twin boys via surrogacy. In the pictures, the duo was seen kissing and giving a peck of love to their newborns' tiny feet. Along with it, Vignesh also revealed the names of his baby boys as Uyir and Ulagam.
