No matter, whether we are five or twenty-five, we all need our moms at every step of our way. From deciding what to wear to finalising our D-day ensemble and reviewing our work, she remains the best critic in our life. She knows all our mood swings and always says the right thing when we are emotionally down. She is our favourite cook and we can never even dream of being an ounce of her. And a perfect example of a doting mommy is Bollywood actress, Neena Gupta. (Recommend Read: 'Khaali Peeli' Actress, Ananya Panday's Dad, Chunky Panday Reacts To The Media Outrage She's Facing)
Neena Gupta's life has been a rollercoaster ride since the beginning of her career. From having rumoured affairs to her wedding with Shaarangdev, Neena’s personal life has been filled with gloomy days and storms, but despite it all, she maintained her life with dignity. We all know about Neena's affair with West Indies cricket team captain, Sir Vivian Richards, who was already a married man. However, Neena had fallen madly in love with him, and had given birth to his daughter, Masaba Gupta.
In the '90s, the idea of being a single mother was a taboo, however, the actress had defied all the norms and aced her role of a single mom. Recently, in an interview with IDiva, Neena talked about her bond with Masaba, and had said, "In any relationship, the most important thing is honesty. Masaba and I are friendly; we talk about a lot of things but there is a line: I am the mother and she’s the daughter. Also, I have not hidden anything from her. So, in one moment, we could be mother and daughter and in the next moment, we could be friends." In the same interview, Masaba revealed that her mother is a bit old-school when it comes to giving advice. She said, "I’d say that she’s a bit old-school in her relationship advice. And she’s also a bit nervous because she doesn't want me to make the same mistakes that she did. However, apart from business and relationships, I trust her judgement the most because she has the ability to cut the emotional cord and look at me as an individual and not just her daughter."
Earlier, in an interview with the IANS, Neena Gupta had talked about the difficulties she had faced while raising her daughter. The actress had recalled, "At that time when I got married, I had worked like a dog, especially in television, which was tough for me. Looking after a baby alone and work was very tough for me. So, I said, now I'm married, I will live a comfortable life, I'll go to the parlour, I'll go for a massage, which I never did for many many years, I will cook -- I like cooking -- I will look after (daughter) Masaba, I will give her more time."
