Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are the most adored couple in B-town. They had surprised everyone by tying the knot in the simplest way possible at Ranbir's Mumbai home, Vastu. It was a dream-like fairytale wedding in which the couple had invited only 40 close friends and family. Alia Bhatt had looked beautiful in an ivory-hued Sabyasachi saree paired with stone studded jewellery. On the other hand, her groom, Ranbir had stolen the show in a similar hued sherwani.
However, news of the couple's hush-hush wedding was already out in the media, which had caused a lot of buzz among their millions of fans. Shutterbugs of various media houses were stationed day and night outside Ranbir's house to get a glimpse of their intimate wedding festivities. Among them, Viral Bhayani, who is a popular paparazzo with 4.1 million Instagram followers, had raised his voice in an interview and had expressed his disappointment for the Kapoors doing 'nothing' for the photographers.

In a recent conversation with India Today, Ranbir Kapoor's mother, Neetu Kapoor was asked to comment on Viral Bhayani's statement. To which, Neetu shared that she would definitely host a special reception party for Viral Bhayani and would also call him up on the stage. Sharing that she would have called everyone if she was the decision-maker, Neetu said:
"I don't like it when anyone is upset. I will host a special reception only for him and have him on stage also, but I don't want him to be unhappy. This was just a quick wedding and hence we couldn't do much. If it was left to me, I would have done it with grandeur and called everyone."
It had all started when in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Viral Bhayani had opened up about the challenges his photographers face while covering a celebrity wedding. From standing day and night under the scorching sunlight to living sleepless nights, Viral had shared the struggles of shutterbugs in detail. Elaborating on the attacks he faces and the pressure his team undergoes, Bhayani had revealed three of his boys were hospitalised because of the work pressure. In the same interview, Viral had criticised Ranbir and Alia for not hosting their wedding in a disciplined manner in a five-star hotel even after having a net worth of Rs. 830 crores. He had stated:
"I agree that they want to respect their elders, but they could have done the same at a five-star hotel. We would have got good pictures and everything would have been disciplined. Your net worth is Rs. 830 crores, what are you trying to prove by doing this."

A while ago, in an interview with Film Companion, Neetu Kapoor had shared that Ranbir and Alia did not want a 'circus'. She had said that both of them had wanted to have a simple wedding without letting others know about it. Further, she had mentioned how they had appointed other people for shopping outfits to keep the marriage a secret. In her words:
"They said 'we don't want a circus, we don't want to tell anyone, we just want to do it.' The circus before that, with memes and other such things, becomes nerve-wracking. So we kept it very very quiet, we would say it's engagement. We couldn't even shop, there were a few people who were appointed to pick and drop stuff because if we go then everyone will know the wedding is happening. We were in a box, we couldn't do anything. But then of course everybody got to know once the lights went up and the Sabyasachi outfits arrived."
