Koffee With Karan season 8 aired the 12th episode, starring veteran actresses, Neetu Kapoor and Zeenat Aman, as guests. During the show, Neetu and Zeenat spilt the beans about their personal lives, kids, grandkids, film industry, and more. Neetu also recalled the final days of her late husband, Rishi Kapoor and made some shocking revelations. For the unversed, the duo has two kids together, a son, Ranbir Kapoor and daughter, Riddhima Kapoor.
Rishi Kapoor passed away in 2020 in Mumbai after a long battle with leukeamia. During the show, Neetu Kapoor recalled the time they spent together in New York, while Rishi was receiving treatment for cancer. She shared that though the time was extremely difficult, she doesn't like to remember the sad part and added that she had the best year of her life back then. Neetu said:
“So Karan for me, I don't like to remember the sad part. I like to remember the good part of our relationship and of our time in New York. So New York was really sad, but we had the best year, I had the best year of my life.”

Speaking along the same lines, Neetu shared that Rishi Kapoor was a very loving person, but he never showed it to his family and friends. She also mentioned how her husband would not be casual and friendly with their kids, Ranbir and Riddhima, but he changed in the final days. She added:
"Because you know Chintu Ji (Rishi Kapoor) is a very loving person. He had a lot of love in him. But there was something he never really showed his love. He always kept his distance and bullying people, not show his love. Especially with me and my children, he was like a big thing. Respect and all and with that he lost out on a lot with his children. He was never a friend to them."
She further reminisced the time when Rishi was undergoing chemotheraphy sessions in New York and acknowledged that amidst the challenging moments, there were also some moments of joy when her husband was in good health. Despite the tough times, she and her kids shared some of the best moments of their lives with Rishi. She added:
“But that year, he opened up. He showed love, went towards me also he was so lovely. We had the best time.”

For the unversed, Ranbir Kapoor shared quite a strained relationship with his father, Rishi Kapoor. On countless occasions, both of them have often shared anecdotes about one another, which hinted at everything not being well between the father-son duo. At one of his promotional event. Ranbir recalled his former equation with his late dad and said:
"He was travelling everywhere so there was not a really friendly relationship between us. We couldn’t just sit and chat, and I really have that one regret in my life. I wish I could be friends with my father. I wish I could share more with him, which is one regret I always live with. I respected him but we were never friendly. But I’m glad I have a daughter to love. When God takes away something, he also gives something back."
