Neetu Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor have been the most talked-about couple in Tinseltown. Though their journey as life partners had ended in 2020, the couple shares an immortal love for each other, which is beyond words. Ever since the stalwart of Indian cinema, Rishi Kapoor, lost his life to cancer on April 30, 2020, there has not been a single day when his doting wife, Neetu Kapoor does not think of him. Now, in a recent interview, an emotional Neetu recalled the last time she had talked to Chijtu ji. She also pointed out interesting numerology that had happened in the Kapoor family.
As the actress misses her hubby, she continues to share priceless throwback pictures of them on the photo-sharing app. For instance, on April 13, 2022, Neetu had taken to her Instagram handle and had dropped a monochrome picture with Rishi from their engagement ceremony. In the picture, they were seen exchanging rings and had looked beautiful in traditional ensembles. Her caption could be read as:
"Fond memories of baisakhi day as we got engaged 43 years back on April 13 1979."
In a candid chat with Film Companion, Neetu Kapoor recalled the toughest phase of her life when late Rishi Kapoor had breathed his last on the hospital's bed. She pointed out the connection between their engagement date back in 1979, with the last date when she had spoken to Rishi. She explained that on April 13, 1979, they had got engaged to each other, and on April 13, 2020, Rishi had talked to her for the last time. Neetu further recalled her husband's last days in the hospital and shared:
"For those two weeks, he was on the ventilator and there was no conversation and no communication. There was no interaction–well, there was, he was looking at me, and I took an iPad with the alphabet and I told him to point out what he wanted to say, but he couldn't lift his finger. It was just Ranbir and me in the hospital, and to see him go through that was so tormenting. To see a man like him… he wanted to say so much, and he couldn't express it. I couldn't see him like that."
Further going into the conversation, Neetu revealed that in her life, there were two people, who were very protective of her, i.e., her mother, Rajee Singh and her darling hubby, late Rishi Kapoor. Sharing how their perspective had changed after the marriage of her daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, she shared:
"He was too protective. He just wouldn't let go of me. But when Riddhima got married, she bloomed. You have to let go of people. It's their journey. Let them lead their own lives, and be happy."
Neetu Kapoor and late Rishi Kapoor's son, Ranbir Kapoor had got married to the love of his life, Alia Bhatt, in an intimate wedding ceremony at his house, Vastu. And their wedding was one of the simplest weddings in Bollywood ever. In the same interview, Neetu Kapoor said that if Rishi were alive, he would have hosted a lavish wedding for his son, Ranbir. In her words:
"He's a showman, showman ka beta. Ranbir differs, he said, 'I would convince papa.' He's very shanth (peaceful)."
On the work front, Neetu Kapoor is all set to grace the audience with her upcoming film, Jug Jugg Jeeyo, opposite Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani.
