Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor had not only reinstated our faith in companionship but had also made the millennials believe in the institution of marriage. With 40 years of marriage, Neetu Kapoor was literally Rishi Kapoor’s shadow, who wholeheartedly fulfilled her wedding vow to be with her spouse 'in sickness and health'. After Rishi Kapoor’s death on April 30, 2020, Neetu Kapoor had stepped out to combat her depression and loneliness.
There is no single day when Neetu doesn’t remember her soulmate, Rishi Kapoor. On April 13, 2022, Neetu had taken a trip down memory lane and had shared a monochrome picture from her engagement with her late husband, Rishi Kapoor. Neetu and Rishi could be seen exchanging rings in the picture, and it had spoken volumes about their love for each other. Neetu had captioned the picture as:
"Fond memories of baisakhi day as we got engaged 43 years back on 13th April 1979."

Neetu Kapoor’s upcoming film, Jugjugg Jeeyo, which also stars Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani is all set to hit the theatres. During a media interaction, while promoting the film, Varun talked about his experience of working with Neetu Kapoor. Talking about the same, Varun shared that the veteran actress would always share stories about Rishi Kapoor. Talking about the same, he stated:
“She would always tell stories about Rishi sir and how he was on sets. For some reason, she would always say I am so nervous because I am coming to a set without him, but I would never believe that because when she started acting, she was like a fish in the water, she started swimming and she has some incredible scenes in the second half.”
Ever since, Rishi Kapoor's death, Neetu Kapoor has gathered the broken pieces of her heart and had begun the second innings of life. Keeping a brave face, Neetu had bounced back to acting. In an interview with Film Companion, Ranbir Kapoor talked about his mother and revealed that after giving up her career at the age of 21, she was not confident to make a comeback.

Earlier, in an interview with News18, Neetu Kapoor had got candid about the hardest phase of her life after Rishi Kapoor’s death. Neetu had struggled with depression until she had decided to keep herself occupied with work. The veteran actress could be quoted as saying:
"This whole phase of going back to work has helped me get out of depression. Working on Jugjugg Jeeyo has been a cathartic experience. Apart from that I also did two reality shows which helped me come and interact with the audience. I am really enjoying my time."
On the professional front, Neetu Kapoor is currently judging the dance reality show, Dance Deewane Juniors.
