Neetu Kapoor's Hazel-Eyed Daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Reveals Why She Did Not Enter Bollywood

In an interview with the ETimes, Riddhima was asked the real reason behind not entering Bollywood. To which, the gorgeousness narrated the story, when she realised that she is not made for films, but her passion lies somewhere else. She revealed that it was her mom, Neetu Kapoor’s fondness for pearls and diamonds which helped her discover her hidden talent. Riddhima never liked jewellery, but during the shoot, for an advertisement, she had found out her passion. In her words:

“It's a very funny story. I was never a jewellery person. To be very honest with you, I never liked jewellery, when I was younger. And then, a long time ago, my mother and I endorsed a jewellery brand. And then, after seeing all those beautiful pieces, I totally fell in love with the jewellery. I used to ask my friend Anuj Kapoor of Punjab Jewellers to make custom pieces for me, then I used to wear them and get a lot of compliments for the designs. I thought to myself- if I'm getting compliments and people are appreciating and liking my designs and I'm getting such a good response, I might as well create and sell them in the market. That's how I partnered with Punjab Jewellers and we started our journey in 2017. “

Earlier, in a media interaction, Riddhima had shared that even being the daughter of superstars, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, she never thought about acting or had a discussion about this with her family. She added that during her college days in London, she used to get a lot of movie offers. However, she rejected them and later came back to India and got married to a businessman, Bharat Sahni. She had said:

"Oh gosh! Kidhar se karu acting (how do I act)? When I was in London, I was getting a lot of film offers but I don't think I ever thought of it. Not that I even had a discussion about it with my family. I came back from London and got married. When I was studying, I remember my mother would tell me about the film offers coming my way and I'd wonder what to make of them because I was only 16-17 at the time."

In an old conversation with ETimes, Riddhima Kapoor had shared that her mom, Neetu used to tell her to learn cooking before marriage. On the contrary, Riddhima’s hubby, Bharat had stopped her from cooking after their wedding for a hilarious reason, which would leave you in splits. Explaining the incident, she had said:

“When I was going to get married, my mother told me that I should learn cooking since I was going to a Punjabi family who loves eating. So to keep her happy, I started taking a cooking class in Mumbai. After marriage, I was cooking different cuisines and my husband loved it. So much so, that poor thing weighed 90 kilos only after that (laughs). Post that, he made me stop cooking, telling me I can’t continue cooking, if I wanted him to lose weight.”
