Neha Dhupia Shares Long-Standing Wait For Offers In Bollywood, 'I Have Been Struggling For 22 Years'

Neha Dhupia is a model, actress, and chat show host. Her beauty, acting skills, and confidence have helped her gain popularity in showbiz. The actress debuted in 1994 through a Malayalam film, Minnaram. She won Femina Miss India in 2002 and made her Bollywood debut in 2003 with Qayamat: City Under Threat. Recently, the actress sat down for an interview with Bollywood Hungama and revealed that she has been struggling to get film offers for the past 22 years.

Neha opens up about struggling in Bollywood

Neha Dhupia shares a good friendship with a lot of personalities in Bollywood. She has worked on different projects and has witnessed the changing dynamics in Bollywood. Neha shared there is a lack of clarity on what works in Bollywood and what does not. She admitted that she has struggled to work on exciting projects for the past 22 years. Neha was quoted as saying:

"I have been struggling for 22 years to associate myself with interesting pieces of cinema. Sometimes they do well at the box office, sometimes they find a smaller audience. I have done Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, Mithya, A Thursday, and more so it is great that people come to me and say. 'this is great, we liked you in this.' So It is very important to put your work out."

Neha reveals that she has received offers from South Indian cinema but not from Bollywood

Neha Dhupia has worked in Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam language films. She has worked on several successful films and web series in Bollywood. Despite her work, she revealed that she does not have many offers in the industry. Neha shared that she got two back-to-back films at South Indian Cinema. However, she did not remember when she last got a Hindi film offer.

Neha admits that it's okay to 'knock on doors' to ask for work in Bollywood

Bollywood has been going through a difficult phase. Particularly after the pandemic, several big-budget films have tanked at the box office. Neha shared that since the industry is going through a rough phase, it is acceptable to 'knock on doors' and ask for work in the industry. The A Thursday actress added that even the ones who give work, struggle with the calculations.
