The weekend is finally here, and for the tribe that feels too lazy to go out and fuel their souls with movies, July 19-July 20, 2025, is going to be a treat. The reason? Well, the streamers are bringing some of the much-loved content. Major platforms are going to stream new seasons of some of the most-watched shows, and some of them are even the final ones. Netflix, HBO Max, Paramount+, and Prime Video, all of the platforms have exciting new movies, documentaries, series, and shows streaming this weekend. So, without further ado, let's dive deep to unpack the surprise box. 

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 is streaming on Paramount+

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is now back after a two-year break. The modern-day Star Trek series has already become one of the most beloved among fans. The first season was dropped in 2022, while the second season came to light in 2023. On July 16, 2025, the first two episodes of the third season were released exclusively on Paramount+ for the first time. So, you can undoubtedly add these two episodes to your watchlist this weekend.

Totalling 10 episodes, the season 3 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will drop weekly episodes on Thursdays, throughout September 11. So, it can easily be on your weekend watch list. Star Trek has returned with your favourite crew along with new characters, who all together maintain the bold storytelling, which already started with a full-packed action sequence. The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 will stream on Prime Video

The third season of another much-loved series, The Summer I Turned Prettyis streaming on Prime Video. The first episode was dropped on Wednesday this week, and the remaining 9 episodes will stream one at a time on Wednesdays only through September 17. The first two seasons had been one of the most loved series of Prime Video, and the trailer of season 3, itself, unfolded that the series would bring more dramatic turns, romantic angles and surely Taylor Swift music not only through background tunes but also as an essence.

Untamed is streaming on Netflix

Premiered globally on July 17, 2025, Untamed is a Netflix limited series. The series consists of 6 episodes and has been well-received by many. This can also be a definite must-watch for this weekend. Set in the background of Yosemite National Park, the series revolves around a dead body, which was found in the park. Agent 'Kyle Turner' starts to investigate and finds out that it was possibly a murder mystery, which also brings secrets of the past and the agent's secrets as well. Given the East Coast's current rainy weather, this documentary can follow a similar line.

How to Train Your Dragon brings back nostalgia, but in a movie version, through digital platforms

Let's go back to 2010 again with How to Train Your Dragon, but this time, through the movie version. Directed by the original filmmaker of How to Train Your Dragon, Dean DeBlois, the movie version tells the same story of the fantasy world, where a small boy is against killing dragons and eventually catches and becomes friends with an injured dragon, whom he names 'Toothless'.

This year, the movie adaptation of How to Train Your Dragon won the hearts of critics worldwide. The movie is currently available for rent or purchase on Apple TV, Google Play, Amazon Prime Video, and other platforms. For the unversed, it had its theatrical release a month back.

Finally Dawn can be finalised on your weekend watchlist

If you are more into exploring something surreal, then Finally Dawn can surely be your final choice for this weekend. Written and directed by Italian filmmaker,, Saverio Costanzo this period drama tells a story of a young woman who was on the verge of an arranged marriage.

The lead eventually accompanied her sister to an audition. Well, the turn of events made the lead selected from the crowd by a famous Hollywood star, not her sister, and thus, the day that began with whimsy turned out to be a surreal experience. Well, this movie was released in Italy in 2023, but it had a limited theatrical run in the U.S. in July 2025. Currently, it's available for rent and purchase on the major platforms. So, Finally Dawn can also be your weekend escape, for that matter.
