NHL Player, David Pastrnak Welcomes Second Daughter With His Wife, Rebecca, After Loss Of Their Son

David Pastrnak is one of the most loved NHL players. He is best-known for his powerful skills and intense game. In his personal life, he has been married to ladylove, Rebecca since 2024. For those who do not know, the couple is parents to a daughter; however did you know that in 2021 the two lost their son, Viggo only six days after his birth. Now, the couple has welcomed their third child. 

David Pastrnak’s Hockey team reveals the birth of his and Rebecca’s child

On March 12, 2026, David Pastrnak’s Hockey team, Boston Bruins took to its X handle (formerly Twitter) to share the good news. In the post, they revealed that David and his wife, Rebecca have welcomed their third child together- a daughter. The post also mentioned that despite the good news, the NHL player is all set to return to play a game on the same day. The post can be read as:

"Per Coach Sturm, David Pastrnak and his wife, Rebecca, have welcomed a baby daughter. Congratulations to the Pastrnaks! David is expected to play tonight."

Soon after the post went viral on social media, multiple fans shared their thoughts on the same. While some users congratulated the couple, others appreciated David for returning to play Hockey and believed that he would definitely take a hatrick in the match. One fan commented, "David will score a hat trick for his baby tonight to show who is the boss." Another user wrote, "David player tonight despite welcoming a baby shows how much he’s dedicated and committed to the club. Congratulations." A third fan penned, "Congrats, Pasta!!!!! Wonderful news!!!!!!!!!!! Keep em coming!!!!" A fourth user showed concern and commented, "No no that's okay he can spend time with his family."

David Pastrnak and Rebecca lost their son in 2021

David Pastrnak has always been in the spotlight for his amazing hockey skills. However, in 2021, he grabbed attention for all the wrong and sad reasons. For the unversed, the NHL player and his wife, Rebecca welcomed their son, Viggo in 2021; however, in just six days, he passed away, leaving the couple devastated. According to People, the couple shared a post on their Instagram handle, which could be read as:

"Viggo Rohl Pastrnak June 17th 2021 - June 23rd 2021. We have an Angel watching over us and we call him SON. You will be loved FOREVER. Please respect our privacy as we are going through these heartbreaking times."

Later, David’s hockey team also issued a statement, in which they expressed their grief towards David and Rebecca’s son, Viggo. In the statement, the team shared that they are heartbroken by the news and are standing with the couple in this tough phase. Further, they also requested privacy from fans.

If reports are to be believed, David and Rebecca started dating in July 2018, and the two made their relationship public after a few months. According to a report by The Sun, Rebecca is from Sweden and later moved to Boston. After dating for a long time, the couple tied the knot in August 2024, in an intimate wedding ceremony. Later, the NHL player, shared a cutesy post, in which David described Rebecca as the 'best wife'.

It is worth mentioning that three years ago, in 2021, the couple embraced parenthood with the birth of their son, Viggo Rohl Pastrnak. However, he tragically passed away within a week of his birth. This deeply affected the couple. In 2023, the couple welcomed their daughter, Freya Ivy Pastrnak and now, in March 2026, they welcomed a daughter. As of now, David has not shared any post of the little angel.
