Nia Sharma Defends Aly Goni After The Ganesh Chaturthi Backlash, 'Being A Part Of Someone's...'

Aly Goni and Jasmine Bhasin have often made headlines for their beautiful relationship. Recently, Aly Goni, Jasmine and Nia Sharma were loved a lot by fans for their unfiltered friendship and unbreakable bond. Despite all the love, Aly Goni found himself in the middle of a controversy, when he attended the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations with his friends but didn’t chant. Amid the backlash, Nia Sharma has addressed the issue on her Instagram handle. 

Nia Sharma comes in support of Aly Goni

TV star and Bigg Boss 14 fame, Aly Goni has been receiving a lot of backlash for not chanting ‘Ganpati Bappa Mourya’, during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebration. Amid all the trolling and hatred he is getting from users, his friend and TV actress, Nia Sharma took to her Instagram Stories to support him. She shared a beautiful picture of her, Aly and Jasmine and penned a message, in which she shared that being part of someone's festival is the biggest respect. She said:

"Being a part of someone's festivities is the utmost respect itself. And we celebrate Ganpati, Eid, and every festival in India with the same fervour!"

Why is Aly Goni facing backlash?

Recently, a video clip went viral on social media, in which Jasmine Bhasin, Nia Sharma and Aly Goni were celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi. But, in the clip, Aly Goni seemed a little uncomfortable and even though Jasmine asked him to chant, ‘Ganpati Bappa Mourya’ with them, he chose to stay silent. The clip went viral in no time and fans started trolling Aly for the same. One user commented, "Issse acha to sonakshi ka pati hai." Another user said, "But muh kyun bana raha hai itna atleast he should smile gracefully."

Apart from all the hate, there were a few users, who came in support of Aly and defended him on social media. Some users felt that, if he doesn’t force Jasmine to read Namaz, then why should Jasmine ask him to chant. One user said, "He is respecting & came to celebrate why would he follow did he force her to offer namaz!!" Another said, "As a Hindu, I will say he's done nothing wrong." A third user said, "It's absolutely alright .. at least he is not disrespecting."
