Nick Jonas talks about his surprisingly difficult varmala ceremony

In an interview with People, Nick Jonas shared a memory from their varmala ceremony and called it a surprisingly difficult game. Talking about the same, he shared how the bride and groom are lifted by their respective family members and try to put the garland around the other. He also mentioned that the one who puts the garland first is regarded as more dominating and added:

"There's this one moment in Indian weddings where the bride and groom are lifted on the shoulders of their family members and there's sort of a game that's played where this garland is put on each other. They try to be the first to put the garland on the other. And it's surprisingly difficult, especially when you have someone as competitive as me and Pri. But whoever is the one to put it on first, that side of the family is the more dominant."

Priyanka Chopra reveals Nick Jonas' family was nodding off at their Hindu wedding

Earlier, Priyanka Chopra also shared an interesting memory from the Hindu ceremony with Nick Jonas in an interview with British Vogue. Recalling the bitter-sweet memory from her lavish wedding, she revealed how Nick's entire family had flown down to India for the multiple-day-long affair. Priyanka also recalled that Nick's family was nodding off during the Hindu wedding ceremony as they all were jet-lagged. Further talking about her and Nick's The Simpsons meme, Priyanka mentioned:

“This is from our Hindu wedding. It's done according to astrological charts and the auspicious time was 10 o'clock at night, and everyone had flown down from America. They were just so jet-legged. I could just see my husband glaring at his family cause they were nodding off. This was really bittersweet and funny because obviously, The Simpsons, are an iconic part of most of our childhoods. But it was also the irony of me in an Indian dress marrying a white guy. Great.”
