Popular actress, Dalljiet Kaur and her second husband, Nikhil Patel have been all over the news for their ugly divorce battle. The duo, who initially refrained from washing their dirty linens in public, has been making shocking revelations about their relationship in public. Recently, Nikhil arrived in India with his alleged girlfriend, following which, Dalljiet filed an FIR against him. However, the businessman flew back to Kenya and didn't report at the police station.
Now, Nikhil Patel finally broke his silence on his ugly spat with Dalljiet and shared a long statement to unveil his side of the story. He mentioned that he and Dalljiet met in Dubai in 2022 and got married in March 2023. After that, the actress shifted her base to Kenya, along with her son, Jaydon. Nikhil added that Dalljiet was insistent on moving to Kenya despite knowing he wasn't legally divorced from his first wife. He penned:

"Dalljiet and I met in Dubai in 2022, and then had our Hindu ceremony in March of 2023 in Mumbai, India. Right after the ceremony, we moved to Nairobi, Kenya where I work and reside as a British Expat. We lived in Kenya together as a family until January 2024 when she returned to India with Jaydon. Our celebration in India was not in any way meant to be, nor was it a 'legal' marriage ceremony. For Dalljiet to pretend that we entered a legal union is deliberately deceptive and meant solely for purpose of supporting her victim's self-portrayal."

Nikhil added that he and Dalljiet wanted to legalise their relationship once his divorce was finalised. He also revealed that he spent his energy, time, and resources to help Dalljiet establish her profile in Kenya and gave her a studio for her YouTube channel and podcasts. However, she was keen on securing work in India and was finding it difficult to adapt to the new non-celebrity status in Kenya. In Nikhil's words:
"She made consistent efforts to secure work in India by writing scripts and attempting to market her short films, though they did not achieve the success she hoped. As a supportive partner, I remained committed to backing her projects. Dalljiet found it difficult to adapt to being perceived as a regular member of our community here in Kenya rather than being recognized for her fame and status as an actress as had been the case for well over a decade in India."
Nikhil Patel stated that he has been under media scrutiny ever since Dalljiet and Jaydon left Kenya. He also revealed that the actress withdrew Jaydon from his prestigious school in Nairobi after just four days of the new term and expressed her intention to permanently return to India. The businessman added that he was verbally abused several times on calls in the middle of the night. He said:
"For several weeks after Dalljiet left Kenya, I continued to keep in touch with her and we communicated on a daily basis, where I was verbally abused several times on video and phone calls in the middle of the night. I truly tried my best to ask her to work on our relationship and kept matters private. I asked her to return to Kenya so we could be a family again and work through our differences."
Nikhil mentioned that he tried to reconcile with Dalliet, but it was evident from her interviews that she wanted to focus on her career in India. So, he made peace with her decision and continued to focus on his children and career. Nikhil also revealed that Dalljiet has never met his youngest daughter and even refused to respect his elder daughter's wishes to leave her alone. He penned:

"Despite her Instagram status as 'Proud mummy of 3', Dalljiet has never met my youngest daughter. Furthermore, my older daughter here in Kenya has repeatedly requested that Dalljiet leaves her alone as she does not wish to have any continued relationship with her. My teenage daughter is a young woman and Dalljiet's actions continue to place her under immense mental, social and psychological pressure. This is heartbreaking as I feel responsible for this continuous, non-consensual cyber bullying of an innocent young person. I am urging Dalljiet to leave my children alone."

Nikhil added that Dalljiet returned to Kenya in June 2024 with the intention of creating turmoil and gaining sympathy by portraying herself as “homeless”. He accused the actress of fabricating a story that she had never left Kenya and obtained a court order from the Kenyan courts which prevented him from evicting her and Jaydon. However, she had already left for India in January 2024, which proves that the eviction story was untrue. Nikhil Patel's statement continued:
"On August 2nd, my birthday, Dalljiet filed an FIR against me, repeating the same tactic she used against her ex-husband. Interestingly, in the FIR, she falsely claims that I am an NRI, despite the fact that I have never been a Non-Resident Indian. I am, and always have been, a British citizen."
In the concluding segment of his note, Nikhil Patel urged the media to stop publishing stories about him and Dalljiet, as their relationship was over in January 2024. He added that he wishes Dalljiet and Jaydon the very best in life and hopes that the actress will let go of the bitterness and anger and rather focus on her healing. Nikhil concluded:
"This pattern of behaviour should not continue to disrupt the lives of others. While I do understand that media loves to give stories to the public, I urge media houses to exercise restraint and to put this 'Dalljiet and Nikhil' story to rest in order to protect innocent children and all the other individuals. I sincerely wish Dalljiet and Jaydon the very best as they move on with their lives. I hope that Dalljiet will finally let go of the bitterness and anger that fuels this incessant public media retribution and find her own true inner healing and peace. Our story ended, and the curtain fell back in January 2024."
