Nikkhil Advani Reveals Why He Does Not Want To Work With SRK, Salman Khan, 'Don't Know How To..'

Nikkhil Advani is best known for directing Kal Ho Naa Ho, and Salaam-E-Ishq to name a few. He has made many movies with Salman, Shah Rukh Khan, and Akshay Kumar. However, now the director revealed that he would not like to make a movie with Khan or any superstar because fans of these stars expect huge box office numbers. Nikkhil revealed he cannot work under this pressure. He would love to produce a movie but not direct the same.

Nikkhil Advani does not want to make a film with Salman or Shah Rukh Khan

During an interview with the Lehren Retro, Nikkhil, when asked about making another movie after Salaam-E-Ishq with Salman, said something interesting. Nikkhil said that he does not want to make a film with Salman. He shared that he thinks himself to be lucky to be able to choose people he wants to work with professionally. In his words:

"I tell everyone, John, Akshay… that I don’t know how to make a film that makes Rs 600-800 crore. Actors like Shah Rukh, Salman, Akshay and Ajay Devgn “have become so big that it is unheard for them not to satisfy their fan base without those numbers. They have to hit those numbers.” 

Nikkhil also added that he does not miss catching up with Akshay Kumar over the phone call in the morning. He even shared of sending 'Khiladi Kumar' scripts that he thinks shall work in the favour of the actor but refuses to direct the same. Even if Nikkhil has the will to direct the same, he refuses to do it.

Nikkhil Advani opens up on why he doesn't want to work with SRK after Kal Ho Naa Ho

Going ahead in the interview, Nikkhil was asked if he had ever shared any script with King Khan. This was because of the great bond he has had with the actor during the shooting of the romantic film, Kal Ho Naa Ho. The director said that he still does not have a subject worth for the actor. In his words:

"I don’t have a subject for him and I will never go to him with a subject unless I think it is going to beat Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham and Kal Ho Naa Ho. As long as I can bring value to the relationship that we had, I won’t go to him."

When Shah Rukh Khan compared Devdas to Kal Ho Naa Ho

Nikkhil earlier in an interview with Galatta Plus shared how Shah Rukh Khan compared Devdas to Kal Ho Naa Ho, during the shooting and had also called the movie rubbish and compared Nikkhil's vision with the film with King Khan's earlier work. Shah Rukh used to humorously crack jokes on the sets. Nikkhil said:

"When we were doing Mohabbatein, Shah Rukh was doing Hey Ram. Shah Rukh has a habit of coming for meetings where he says that the film he is making with you is rubbish. You should be seeing the other film. In Kal Ho Naa ho, he said Devdas is fantastic, Kal Ho Naa Ho is rubbish. So, he has that habit.”
