Nimrat Kaur has been making headlines since a Reddit post accused her of breaking up Bollywood power couple, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. While the rumours remain unverified, Nimrat has been subjected to endless trolling ever since they surfaced. The Dasvi actress, however, has refused to pay much attention to the hate beyond making a simple statement about how gossip couldn't be stopped. Besides that, she seems to be living her life to the fullest and even celebrated Diwali and Bandi Chorr Divas in the highest spirits.
For the unversed, Nimrat Kaur has been embroiled in controversy for a while since rumours of her alleged affair with Abhishek Bachchan came to light. Despite being subjected to heavy trolling and online hate, Nimrat is choosing to surround herself with the love of her family.
Nimrat recently took to Instagram with an endearing post of her Diwali celebrations with mom, nana, and nani. It looks like the actress and her family also used the occasion to start Bandi Chorr Divas festivities early, as she wished fans for both festivals. The post featured heartwarming pictures of Nimrat amid celebrations with her loved ones, and was captioned:
"Aap sab ko mere ghar se happy happy diwali… Wishing you all a Happy Bandi Chorr Divas (in Punjabi)."
For the unversed, Bandi Chorr Divas is a Sikh festival. It commemorates the day when the sixth Guru, Guru Hargobind, and 52 Hindu princes were released from imprisonment in Gwalior Fort. For Nimrat Kaur, who is Sikh and was born in Pilani, Rajasthan, the festival is of great significance.
In a recent interview with the Hindustan Times, Nimrat Kaur opened up about what Diwali means to her. According to the actress, Diwali has always meant staying at home with her maa, nani, and sister if she was free. In her words:

"There is no Diwali for me without being at home. I'd never want to celebrate Diwali away from home."
Nimrat further stated that Diwali was a 'simple affair' at her home, starting with pre-Diwali shopping. This shopping trip would involve visiting local markets or malls and picking out gifts to exchange. Every Diwali, Nimrat's house is beautifully adorned, and the whole family dresses to the nines. Talking about the day of Diwali itself, she described the family's routine, saying:
"Once we light all the candles and diyas after the puja and have an early dinner, we usually sit in the car and go for a drive to see how other houses are decorated—what they did this year and what they did last year. We've lived here for so long, and we know people, so we just enjoy going around and seeing what's happening. Sometimes we also love going for ice cream in Sector 18 (Noida)."
Nimrat Kaur has mostly ignored the ongoing speculation about her illicit affair with Dasvi co-star, Abhishek Bachchan, as has the Bachchan family. However, in one interview with The Times Of India, the actress did make a small remark about the gossip. When questioned, Nimrat responded that she could do anything and people would still say what they wanted. She further stated that gossip couldn't be stopped, so she preferred to focus on work.
