Nita Ambani Once Talked About Her Being A Dog Mom And Said, 'I Have Only One Who Is My Family..'

With heavy hearts and a lot of pain, the Ambani family issued the statement on the passing of their pet dog, Happy. Seeing a pet pass over the Rainbow Bridge is never easy. The Ambani family gave him a heartfelt farewell, which featured a huge poster of their golden retriever with its tongue out and glistening eyes. Atop it was written, "Dear Happy, You will forever be a part of us and live on in our hearts. Heaven's gain is our loss." We recently came across an old interview in which Nita Ambani discussed being a dog mom.

When Nita Ambani lovingly talked about being a dog mom

People might think, 'Why fuss over a dog?' but families who nurture four-legged beings for them are more than just animals. They are their family! In the Hindu religion, these dogs are considered the companions of Hindu deities, such as Kaal Bhairav and Maa Kali. In modern times, they are the furry kids who make life happier simply by being there. In 2023, in an interview with The Week, Nita Ambani discussed her life as a pet mom, proudly and happily sharing that, apart from managing her maternal and grandmotherly duties, she is also a mommy to a four-legged being.

With a glint in her eyes, Nita Ambani stated that Anant rescues dogs and has over 5,000 stray dogs, but she only has one, who is her family. Talking about him, Nita Ambani said:

"Add to that, I am also a dog mother. My son Anant rescues dogs; he has 5,000 stray dogs, but I have only one who is my family and we call him Happy."

Who was Ambani pet dog, Happy?

Happy was a golden retriever, a furry baby of the Ambani family. He made headlines when he made a starry appearance at the engagement of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's engagement ceremony, which was held at their home, Antilia, in Mumbai. He was dressed up in a smart tuxedo for the event and cutely wagged his tail as he performed his ring-bearer duties during the ceremony. 

For Anant Ambani's wedding festivities, Happy wore a pink Banarasi silk brocade jacket designed by Ahmedabad-based Pannkh Designer Pet Wear. A photo of Happy with Isha Ambani's daughter, Aadya Shakti, who wore a gorgeous beige-toned lehenga-choli went viral, and she petted her Happy bhaiya.

Not only this, Happy even went on vacations with his family. Last year, an influencer took a picture with Anant Ambani, who was spotted in New York City with Happy. The two were having a quick walk on the street and wore an orange-hued collar and leash.

As soon as the news of Happy's passing made it to the media, Ambani family issued their statement and shared the shocking news with the people who adored a piece of their heart. The statement could be read as:

"In the loving memory of beloved Happy. It is with heavy heart that we share the sad news of the passing of our beloved dog, Happy. More than just a pet, he was family- a loyal companion, a source of comfort, and a constant presence of unconditional love. The joy HAPPY brought into our lives will never be forgotten. From the playful moments to the quiet times of companionship, His memory will forever live in our hearts. Run free, sweet Happy. You will be deeply missed, always loved and never forgotten."
