The grand wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in 2024 was one of the most prominent events held in the year and gained international fame. From star-studded pre-wedding festivities to a luxurious three-day wedding affair, every bit of the wedding drew attention among the masses. Netizens couldn't stop gushing over the grand guest list, extravagant cuisine and vibrant outfits of the celebrities and Ambani family. In a new interview, Anant's mother, Nita Ambani, shared her perspective on hosting a lavish event.

Nita Ambani recently sat down for an interview with Bloomberg Television and opened up about the extravagant celebrations of her younger son, Anant Ambani's wedding with Radhika Merchant. She also addressed the criticism over the wedding's grand scale and explained that every parent wants to make their child's wedding day memorable, and as parents, she and Mukesh Ambani desired the same. In her words: 

 "Every parent wants to do their best for their children's wedding. And that's what we did in all this."

Nita Ambani also highlighted how they took the opportunity to take help of the wedding celebrations for promoting Indian brands at a global level. For those unaware, the Ambani family wore several outfits by Indian brands and invited many small-scale artists and restaurant owners from different parts of the country to showcase their work before prominent personalities from the world like John Cena, Boris Johnson, FIFA Chief Gianni Infantino and more. Also, every significant Hindu ritual was performed at the wedding, and its meaning was highlighted among the guests, promoting Indian culture. Sharing her delight over it, Nita Ambani stated: 

"I think it was a made-in-India brand that came out. I am happy that I was able to bring our Indian traditions, heritage, and culture to the centre stage."

In the same conversation, Nita Ambani shared her feelings as a mother at the wedding celebrations. She recalled how her son, Anant, has struggled against obesity for a significant part of his life. For those unaware, Anant's obesity was caused by corticosteroid medication, which he takes to manage his severe asthma. However, watching her son confidently go on the stage for his wedding made Nita emotional. Recalling Anant's words to her, Nita said: 

"My son Anant has been fighting obesity from a very young age because of his asthma, and he went up on a stage as a confident bridegroom. He said, 'Mom, it's not what I am physically. It's what my heart is. And I saw him holding his life partner's hand, and I think that's what was the most touching feeling."

Anant Ambani's wedding celebrations began with a grand Hastakshar ceremony in Jamnagar and a star-studded pre-wedding celebration cruise trip to Europe. A three-day wedding celebration was held in Mumbai. Prominent personalities like Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Diljit Dosanjh, Arijit Singh and more performed at different events. Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan also made a rare joint appearance at the wedding festivities. Another highlight was the presence of Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian, among other prominent names from the global business sector.
