Anant Ambani recently won millions of hearts by establishing a one-of-a-kind animal rehabilitation centre, Vantara in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The young lad’s fond love for animals have been unconditional, and his thrusted efforts for the same has created a stir on the global level. Well, in an old interaction with Simi Garewal on her show, Rendezvous, Nita Ambani had talked about her then-baby boy, Anant’s obsession with animals. She revealed how the little man rescued lots of animals including hens, hamsters, squirrels and more. In an old clip of the interview that has now resurfaced, Nita Ambani could be seen speaking about her son’s caring nature. In her words:

“He doesn’t love, he is obsessed. He was two years old, we were passing by Crawford Market and suddenly he saw some roosters, hens being taken. And he says, mumma, I want to take them home. So that was how it began. And today, we have, I think, 500 hens, roosters, goats, sheep, hedgehogs, squirrels, hamsters, all living with us. It’s quite funny because the rooster crows at four thirty in the morning and wakes us all up. He wants to grow up and become a farmer.”

Anant Ambani claimed that helping animals is a way of serving God for him

As the Director of Reliance Industries, back on February 26, 2024, Anant Ambani opened the world’s largest animal rehabilitation centre, Vantara in Jamnagar, Gujarat. During a press event shortly after it, the young entrepreneur sat for an interaction, wherein he divulged more details about this passion project of his. He explained his belief that helping animals is in more than one ways of serving God himself. He said:

“Aaj ke tareekh mein bhagwan ke roop mein aate hain. Hum toh rubaru bhagwan ko dekh nhi sakte toh main yeh maanta hoon ki janwar ka sewa krna hi mere liye bhagwan ka karya hai aur bhagwan ka sewa krne jaisa mujhe mauka mila hai. Main yeh dil se krta hoon isse mere business ka kuch lena dena hai nhi.”

Anant credited his parents, Nita and Mukesh Ambani for inspiring him to help animals

In yet another of his interviews with CNN News18, Anant Ambani credited his parents, Nita Ambani and Mukesh Ambani for imbibing in him, the love for animals and wildlife. He remarked that his father has been the biggest wildlife enthusiast in their family, and added how he meticulously ensured to take them all for various trips to national parks and jungles for holidays. In his words:

“And my father is one of the biggest wildlife buffs. For example, when we were young, I think till the age of 18, I’d not gone on any other family holiday except Africa, Ranthambore, and the jungles of Kanha, Bandhavgarh, and Kaziranga. My father would only take us on jungle holidays. So I think they inspired me to do this. And to be honest, for domestic animals, there are many people who are doing a lot of good work across the country."
