"Despite years and busy schedules, we have always found ways to stay connected. Akash is incredibly grounded and we share a bond based on meaning and memories. We don’t just get along – we also support each other’s hopes and aspirations and are determined to build a sense of purpose into our lives together. We are lucky to have a love that began from being best friends, and luckier still to have such supportive families."
Nita Ambani and Mukesh Ambani's daughter-in-law, Shloka Mehta is the daughter of a diamantaire, Russell Mehta and Mona Mehta. However, being a diamond heiress, she never had any interest in her father's empire. In an interview with ETPanache, she had talked about the same and had said:
"I’ve never had an interest in the business. I think the diamond industry is not very friendly to women. It’s changing but most women typically become jewellery designers or they work in human resources...those kinds of roles. I don’t think that I have the creative aesthetic sense to be a designer."

Nita Ambani and Mukesh Ambani's daughter-in-law, Shloka Mehta's mother, Mona Mehta prefers to stay away from the media glare. She created her own identity away from her diamantaire husband, Russell Mehta. Then when I moved to Ambani, I skipped a grade and went to Shloka’s class. So I’ve been like a third sister to them. I was thrilled with the engagement news. Shloka’s always been part of the family for us."
