Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set and charged up to turn over a new page in her acting career. The talented and versatile diva will be making her first-ever OTT debut with her film, Jaane Jaan which will be released on the global streaming platform, Netflix. The film, which is directed by Sujoy Ghosh, also features Vijay Varma and Jaydeep Ahlawat in pivotal roles. The plotline is an adaptation of the novel titled, The Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino. However, did you know that Bebo wasn’t the first choice for the movie? Well, here’s the truth about it.
The trailer of the upcoming film, Jaane Jaan was released on September 5, 2023. During the trailer launch event of the same, an interesting anecdote about the film’s development came to the surface. Well, Sujoy Ghosh was initially keen on roping Saif Ali Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the film, and had approached the two of them with the script back in 2015. Proof of the same can be traced back to one of Aishwarya’s previous interviews with Bollywood Hungama, where she claimed that Sujoy Ghosh had chosen her for two of his films. She had mentioned:
“I’ve agreed to do Sujoy’s Durga Rani and the screen adaptation of Keigo Huganshino’s Japanese novel The Devotion Of Suspect X. I don’t know which one he will start first.”

Fast forward to the trailer launch event of Jaane Jaan, the ecstatic director, Sujoy Ghosh shared how he felt that the film ended up turning a full circle, when instead of Saif Ali Khan, it was his wife, Kareena Kapoor, who ended up bringing life to the film. He mentioned:
“Saif has a history with the film and then like a true husband, he shoved down his responsibilities on Kareena. We were supposed to do the film but we couldn’t make it and I believe that every film has its own destiny and now it has happened with Kareena so for me it has come full circle.”
In the same conversation, Kareena Kapoor then revealed how Saif Ali Khan had connected with her film and its making since day one. She revealed that on many instances, he was more excited than her about it. She revealed that Saif is eagerly waiting for the film to get released, and has already re-watched its newly launched trailer a lot many times.

Apart from being phenomenal actors, Kareena and Saif make for a wonderful pair, who have always stood by one another no matter what. Proof of the same was found in one of Bebo’s earlier interviews during an event, where she revealed that her dearest husband was exceptionally better than her in not just household chores, but also showcases the most extra-ordinary culinary skills, as compared to herself, who cant even boil water.
